(BANK STREET, RAWTENSTALL, ROSSENDALE BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY ONE-WAY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this Order.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle or cycle to travel over that length of Bank Street, Rawtenstall in a Northly direction from its junction with St Marys Way to its junction with Newchurch Road. 2. The impact of this order is that the car parking area accessed directly off Bank Street will be unavailable for the duration of the order. 3. Nothing in this Order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works. 4. The prohibition will be operative from 0700 hours on Monday 28th September 2026 until 1700 hours on Friday 9th July 2027 or until completion of the works within this period. 5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the one-way prohibition is via: St Marys Way –Newchurch Road– Bank Street
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow the upgrade of new traffic signals paving to footways, drainage, street lighting works, surfacing of the carriageway and landscaping. Works to be carried out by P Casey land reclamation ltd.
