(DERBY STREET AND SIDE ROADS, HUNCOATS SCHEME, HYNDBURN BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council has made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this Order.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of highway in the Borough of Hyndburn
i. Derby Street, Hyndburn from its junction with Maudsley Street to its junction with Queens Road.
ii. Meadow Street, Hyndburn for its full length
iii. Owen Street, Hyndburn for its full length
iv. Aitken Street, Hyndburn for its full length
v. Marlborough Road, Hyndburn for its full length.
2. Nothing in this Order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The Order will be in force from 0700 hours until 1800 hours on Monday 21st September 2026 to Friday 16th October 2026 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closures will be locally signed.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to excavate joint bay and install cable form overheads to underground works to be carried out by on behalf of Network Plus.
