What is happening?
SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL
The Borough Council of Sandwell (Wolverley Crescent, Oldbury)
(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding via Wolverley Crescent from its junction with Hartlebury Road for a distance of 25 metres in an easterly direction.
Traffic will be diverted via Hartlebury Road, Shelsley Avenue & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 02/10/2026, effective from 29/09/2026 (8am-6pm only).

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Hugh Road, Smethwick)
(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding via Hugh Road from its junction with the extended boundary of No’s 38/40 to its junction with the extended boundary of No’s 54/56.
Traffic will be diverted via Marion Road, Holly Lane, Hugh Road & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to commence and be completed by 29/09/2026 (9:30am-3:30pm only).

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Mallin Street, Smethwick)
(Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Mallin Street, which will be closed from the junction of Highbury Road (southern side) for 30 metres in a southerly direction.
Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits.
Traffic will be diverted via Oldbury Road, Birmingham Road, Rood End Road, Cemetery Road, St Pauls Road & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to commence and be completed by 01/10/2026 (9:30am-3:30pm).
Purpose – to facilitate access to replace a telecommunications pole by M J Quinn on behalf of Openreach.
The Borough Council of Sandwell
(Grafton Road, Oldbury – Brandhall Green Space)
(Temporary Public Right of Way Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along the public right of way at Grafton Road – Brandhall Green Space. This closure will start approximately 30 metres from its entrance at Grafton Road and continue in a south-easterly direction for approximately 150 metres.
A pedestrian diversion route will be signed via Grafton Road, Brandhall Green Space & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 07/02/2027, effective from 28/09/2026 (24hrs).
