What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(CLIFTON ROAD, SHEFFORD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Clifton Road, Shefford outside number 60 A.

This temporary closure is required to enable stoptap replacement work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 6 to 8 October 2026 between the hours 0800-1600. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via Shefford Rd, Broad St, Clifton Rd, B659, A507, Hitchin Rd, Clifton Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 6 October 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(POTTON ROAD, BIGGLESWADE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Potton Road, Biggleswade at the Bridge approx. 220m from Baden Powell Way.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway patching work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 7 to 9 October 2026 between the hours 0900-1530 The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via B1040, B1042, Bedford Rd, A1, A6001, B1040  and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 7 October 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(WHISTON CRESCENT, CLIFTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Whiston Crescent, Clifton outside number 19.

This temporary closure is required to enable customer supply pipe repair work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 22 to 24 September 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Stockbridge Rd, Brickle Place and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 22 September 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(BEDFORD ROAD, SANDY)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Bedford Road, Sandy between the A1 and High St.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway patching work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 21 to 23 September 2026 between the hours of 0900-1530. The road will be closed at all times during this period. Each closure will be done separately.

The alternative route for this closure will be via A1, Georgetown Rd, Girtford underpass, Sunderland Rd, A1, St Neots Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 21 September 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(CHURCH STREET, TEMPSFORD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the full length of Church Street, Tempsford.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway patching work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 24 to 25 September between the hours of 0800-1800. The road will be closed at all times during this period. There is no alternative route for this closure – access for residents will be maintained.

The Order will come into operation on 24 September 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.
