What is happening?

THE BOROUGH OF BLACKBURN WITH DARWEN

(RAMSGREAVE ROAD, BLACKBURN & PARSONAGE ROAD, BLACKBURN)

(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that the Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council intend to make the above Order under Section 14 (1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the Order is to close Ramsgreave Road & Parsonage Road for the following extent: From Railway Bridge on Ramsgreave Road to the junction of Walden Road & Parsonage Road, excluding Whalley New Road.

The closure is necessary for the following reason: Carriageway resurfacing.

The Order will come into force on 25th September 2026 and shall continue in force for a period of eighteen months or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 3rd October 2026.

The diversion route for the traffic affected by the event covering Ramsgreave Road will be Ramsgreave Road, Higher Ramsgreave Road, Barker Lane, Lammack Road, Ramsgreave Drive, Whalley New Road and vice versa.

The diversion route for the traffic affected by the event covering Parsonage Road will be Parsonage Road, Brownhill Road, Haston Lee Avenue, Whalley New Road and vice versa. Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times.
