OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (CHERWELL, OXFORDSHIRE - VARIOUS ROADS) (MAP BASED) (TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT) (VARIATION NO.1) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that on 14 September 2026 Oxfordshire County Council made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The amendment order, which comes into force on 25 September supersedes the previous Oxfordshire County Council (Bicester Sheep Street) Experimental Order 2025 which was in effect from 25 March 2025 and now makes the measures permanent.

The order allows pedal cycles to be ridden in any direction in Sheep Street, Bicester within the restricted pedestrianised area. This will apply at all times other than on each Friday between 9am and 4pm during the street market event. Cyclists must dismount and not ride cycles at this time unless the cycle is being used as a mobility aid for transport. The Oxfordshire County Council (Cherwell, Oxfordshire - Various Roads) (Map Based) (Traffic Management) Order 2026 is amended as necessary, updating Map Tiles CV79 & CW79 in the process.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER

Oxfordshire County Council intends to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

This Order follows the Temporary Traffic Regulation Notice previously issued under Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (Reference 89). The restriction remains necessary to allow the works to continue and this Order continues the temporary restriction under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Nature of Restriction: Road Closure Location: Merton Way, Yarnton, Oxfordshire Description of Works: Road closure to facilitate Microsurfacing works being carried out by M Group Highways Limited on behalf of OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL.

The anticipated completion date is 26/09/2026 16:00

for footpaths, bridleways, cycle tracks and byways that are open to all traffic).

Access: Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and for properties

within the closed section of road where reasonably practicable.

Suggested Alternative Route: Rutten Lane, The Garth, Spencer Avenue, Dashwood Avenue

and vice versa

Notice is hereby given that Oxfordshire County Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, has made a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order on 14/09/2026, as detailed below:

Nature of Restriction: Speed Limit Restriction from 60mph to 30mph Location: Ardley Road, Middleton Stoney, Oxfordshire Description of Works: Replacement of rutter poles and upgrading the OH line being carried out by OCU GROUP.

Notice is hereby given that Oxfordshire County Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, intends to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order as detailed below:

Nature of Restriction: Road Closure Location: South Street, Middle Barton, Oxfordshire (outside number 46) Description of Works: Excavate to Install x 1 Air Valve and chamber - Backfill and Reinstate being carried out by M Group Water. TTRO reference: 495

Duration: Starting on 10/11/2026 08:00

The anticipated completion date is 14/11/2026 17:00(inclusive)

or 6 months for other public rights of way).

Access: Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and for properties within the closed section of road where reasonably practicable. Suggested Alternative Route: Diversion via Church Lane, Road from Steeple Barton toward Kiddington Road, Kiddington Road, South Street and vice versa.

Notice is hereby given that Oxfordshire County Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, intends to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order as detailed below:

Nature of Restriction: Road Closure Location: Banbury Road, Shipton On Cherwell, Oxfordshire (junction with B4027 to junction A4095) Description of Works: Road closure to facilitate pre-surface dressing works being carried out by M Group Transport. TTRO reference: 450

Duration: Starting on 30/10/2026 19:00

The anticipated completion date is 03/11/2026 07:00(inclusive)

Access: Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and for properties

within the closed section of road where reasonably practicable.
