What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(Temporary Closing Of Pedlars Lane, Therfield) Order 2026

NOTICE is given that HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Pedlars Lane, Therfield from a point in line with the western boundary of ‘Rose Bank’ north westwards for a distance of approximately 100m ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via: Pedlars Lane, The Causeway, Kelshall Tops and Pedlars Lane.

The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 22 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 2 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
