(OXFORD CITY – VARIOUS ROADS) (MAP BASED)

(PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND PERMITTED PARKING) (VARIATION NO.10) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that on 14 September 2026 Oxfordshire County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the order, which comes into force on 21 September – is to help improve the route for cyclists by introducing ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ (double yellow lines) on Howard Street in place of approximately 5 metres of ‘Permit Holders only’ parking adjacent to No.24. This is to help improve visibility for vehicles and pedestrians at its junction with Flower Lane.

The Oxfordshire County Council (Oxford City – Various Roads) (Map Based) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Permitted Parking) Order 2026 is further amended updating Mat Tile No EZ68.

(STOKE TALMAGE PARISH) (20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 20**

NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the order – in order to help improve road safety on local roads – is to introduce a 20mph speed limit on Stoke Talmage (near Tetsworth) replacing the existing 30mph speed limit within the village in its entirety, leading out to the following points:

1. The unnamed road from the A40 to Cuxham:

a. Northern end – a point 445 metres north of its junction with the unnamed Stoke Talmage Road,

b. Southern end – a point 100 metres south of its junction with the unnamed Stoke Talmage Road.

2. The unnamed road to Stoke Talmage – a point 445 metres northwest of its junction with the unnamed road from the A40 to Cuxham.

The Oxfordshire County Council (Restricted Roads) (Stoke Talmage Parish) Order 1999 will be revoked/replaced as required.

(STANTON HARCOURT PARISH) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 20**

NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the order – to help improve road safety on local roads – is to introduce new & amend existing speed limits in Stanton Harcourt & Sutton as follows:

30mph speed limit:

1. B4449 Eynsham Road – extend the existing limit at the southern end of Sutton southwards by approx. 95 metres, replacing that length of existing 60mph National speed limit in the process.

40mph speed limits:

2. B4449 Eynsham Road – introduce a new limit, extending northwards from the existing 20mph speed limit at Sutton for approx. 400 metres, replacing that length of existing 60mph National speed limit in the process.

3. Main Road – introduce a new limit, extending southwards from the existing 20mph speed limit at Stanton Harcourt for approx. 400 metres, replacing that length of existing 60mph National speed limit in the process.

Additionally, the following Traffic calming features (with priority workings as described) will also be introduced as follows:

4. B4449 Eynsham Road (at Sutton):

a. gated chicane feature – to be located at the existing 20mph speed limit terminal point, approx. 430 metres north of its junction with Sutton Lane, with priority given to traffic leaving the village travelling northwards,

b. gated chicane feature – to be located at the existing 20mph/30mph speed limit terminal point, approx. 20 metres south of its junction with Beaumont Green, with priority given to traffic leaving the village travelling southwards.

5. Main Road (at Stanton Harcourt) – gated chicane feature, to be located at the existing 20mph speed limit terminal point, approx. 60 metres south of its junction with Halifax Way, with priority given to traffic leaving the village travelling southwards.

6. B4449 Eynsham Road (at Sutton) – road narrowing with kerbed build-outs in each carriageway, to be located approx. 185 metres north of its junction with Sutton Lane, with priority given to traffic travelling northwards.

The Oxfordshire County Council (Stanton Harcourt Parish) (Speed Limits) Order 2024 will be revoked/replaced as required.

(STANDLAKE PARISH) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 20**

NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the order – to help improve road safety on local roads – is to introduce new & amend existing speed limits in Standlake & Brighthampton as follows:

20mph speed limits:

1. A415 Abingdon Road – from a point 214 metres southeast of its junction with the High Street, north-westwards to a point 256 metres north of its junction with the B4449 Aston Road (by Calais Lane), replacing the existing 30mph speed limit in its entirety in the process.

2. Heyford Close – for its entire length, replacing the existing 30mph speed limit in the process.

40mph speed limits:

3. B4449 Aston Road – introduce a new limit, extending south-westwards (towards Aston) from the existing 20mph speed limit at Brighthampton for approx. 400 metres, replacing that length of existing 60mph National speed limit in the process.

4. Downs Road – introduce a new limit, extending eastwards (towards Standlake) from the existing 60mph speed limit at its junction with the A415 Witney Road through to the 30mph speed limit, replacing that length of existing 60mph National speed limit in the process.

Additionally, the following Traffic calming features (with priority workings as described) will also be introduced as follows:

5. A415 Abingdon Road:

a. road narrowing with kerbed build-outs in each carriageway – to be located approx. 20 metres east of its junction with the B4449 Aston Road (Brighthampton Corner), with priority given to traffic travelling westwards towards Witney,

b. road narrowing with kerbed build-outs in each carriageway – to be located immediately south of its junction with High Street/Shifford Lane, with priority given to traffic leaving the village travelling south-eastwards towards Newbridge.

6. A415 Witney Road – road narrowing with kerbed build-out in the eastern carriageway, to be located at the existing 50mph speed limit terminal point, approx. 256 metres north of its junction with the B4449 Aston Road (by Calais Lane), with priority given to traffic leaving the village travelling northwards.

7. B4449 Aston Road:

a. road narrowing with ‘Gateway’ features* in each carriageway – to be located at the existing 20mph speed limit terminal point, approx. 145 metres southwest of its junction with Malthouse Lane, with priority given to traffic leaving the village travelling south-westwards towards Aston,

* alternatively, a kerbed build-out in the western carriageway, with a full width road hump in the eastern carriageway will also be considered.

b. road narrowing with kerbed build-outs in each carriageway – to be located approx. 20 metres south of its junction with the A415 Abingdon/Witney Road, with priority given to traffic travelling northwards towards Witney.

The Oxfordshire County Council (Standlake Parish) (Speed Limits) Order 2023 will be revoked/replaced as required.

Description of Works: Cabling works carried out by Openreach.

The anticipated completion date is 11/11/2026 15:30

(Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders have a maximum duration of 18 months for roads, or 6 months for other public rights of way).

Access: Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and for properties within the closed section of road where reasonably practicable.

Description of Works: Excavate to Recover and make operable the missing valve being carried out by M Group Water.
