What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) Old Coach Road, North Wraxall; from its junction with A420 for a distance of approximately 391m in a north westerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out cabling works and other associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 12 October 2026 and the closure will be required for 3 days. For further information please contact Openreach on 0800 023 2023.

B) C135 (Part), Bremhill; from outside its property known as The Old Chapel for a distance of approximately 220m in a north easterly direction to enable Openreach to carry out pole testing works and other associated works. Alternative route via C135 (unaffected length) – C118 – C111 – C135 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 14 October 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. C) The Forty (Part), Cricklade; from its junction with Carpenters to its junction with Purton Road to enable Wales & West Utilities to carry out mains replacement work and other associated works. Alternative route via B4553 – B4040 – The Fiddle – The Forty (unaffected length) and vice versa. D) Quarrydale Close (Part), Calne; from its property known as No.03 Quarrydale Close to its property known as No.39 Quarrydale Close to enable Openreach to carry out duct laying works and other associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 12 October 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 3 days. E) C194 (Part), Froxfield; from its junction with Watercourse Lane for a distance of approximately 650m in a northerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out cabling/accessing the chambers and other associated works. Alternative route via C6 – B4192 – C208 – A4 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 21 September 2026 and the closure will be required for 4 days. F) C178 (Part), Grittleton; from its property known as No.02 West Sevington Cottages for a distance of approximately 200m in a north easterly direction to enable Openreach to carry out ducting work and other associated works. Alternative route via C86 – B4039 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 21 September 2026 and the closure will be required for 3 days. G) St Johns Street (Part), Devizes; from its junction with A360 to its junction with Castle Court to enable Openreach to carry out overhead cabling works to provide customer service and other associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 21 September 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. H) C394 (Part), Calne; from its junction with C118 to its junction with The Pippin to enable Wessex Water Services to carry out sensor survey works, repair works to be carried out if required and other associated works. Alternative route via C394 (unaffected length) – A3102 – C118 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 20 September 2026 and the closure will be required between the hours of 10:00 and 14:00 for 1 day. I) C82 (Part), Great Somerford; from outside its property known as White Lodge for a distance of approximately 91m in a southerly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out stop tap renewal works and other associated works. Alternative route via C82 (unaffected length) – C166 – C66 – C77 – C82 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 21 September 2026 and the closure will be required for 3 days. For further information please contact Wessex Water on 0345 6003600.

J) C123 (Part), Clyffe Pypard; from its property known as 650m north west of its junction with C120 for a distance of approximately 100m in a north westerly direction to enable Thames Water Utilities to carry out ferrule leak repair works and other associated works. Alternative route via C123 (unaffected length) – C110 – A3102 – C130 – C120 – C123 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 22 September 2026 and the closure will be required for 3 days. For further information please contact Thames Water Utilities on 0800 316 9800.

Orders A) to J) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make an Order to close temporarily to all users: Footpath 13 (Part), St Paul Malmesbury Without; from a point approximately 540m east of its junction with A429 for a distance of approximately 240m in an easterly direction to enable The Malmesbury Water Recycling Centre is undergoing improvements and the upgraded power supply cables are to be buried underneath the footpath. Alternative route via existing public highways and rights of way. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 12 October 2026 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 12 February 2027. Access will be maintained where possible although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 6 months. ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (A420 AND C68, BIDDESTONE, CASTLE COMBE, NORTH WRAXALL AND YATTON KEYNELL) (50MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2026

Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council proposes to make the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to introduce a 50mph speed limit on A420, Biddestone, Castle Combe, North Wraxall and Yatton Keynell – from a point 290 metres east of its junction with C68 to a point 25 metres east of its junction with C151; C68 Biddestone Lane, Yatton Keynell – from its junction with A420 for a distance of 50 metres in a northerly direction; C68 Yatton Road, Biddestone – from its junction with A420 for a distance of 50 metres in a southerly direction.

Deposit copies of the draft Order, plan and Statement of the Council’s Reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at the offices of Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge during normal office hours. Details of the proposed scheme may be seen at Corsham Library, Springfield Community Campus, Beechfield Road SN13 9DN during the hours of 6.30am to 10pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 6.30am to 8pm Friday, 8am to 5pm Saturday and 8am to 6pm Sunday until 12 October 2026.
