(PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
Notice is hereby given that, on the 10th of September 2026 Derbyshire County Council made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The Order will come into operation on the 21st of September 2026 and its effect is:
TO PROHIBIT WAITING BY VEHICLES ON THE FOLLOWING LENGTHS OF ROAD:
Castle Hill, Duffield
North side
From its junction with Milford Road in a westerly direction, for a distance of 11 metres.
Castle Hill, Duffield
South side
From its junction with Milford Road in a north-westerly direction, for a distance of 18 metres.
TO RESTRICT WAITING BY VEHICLES, MON - FRI 8:20AM - 9:05AM and 3PM - 3:45PM ON THE FOLLOWING LENGTHS OF ROAD:
Castle Hill, Duffield
North and North-west side
From a point 11 metres west of its junction with Milford Road in a west and south-westerly direction, for a distance of 60 metres.
Castle Hill, Duffield
South and East side
From a point 18 metres west of its junction with Milford Road in a westerly and then southerly direction, for a distance of 46 metres.
TO RESTRICT WAITING BY VEHICLES, MON - FRI 8AM - 9:30AM and 2:30PM - 4PM ON THE FOLLOWING LENGTH
OF ROAD:
King Street, Duffield
South-west side
From its junction with The Pastures in a south-easterly direction, to a point 18 metres north-west of its junction with Champion Hill.
Exemptions will be made for vehicles used in connection with any building operation or demolition; removal of any obstruction to traffic; carrying out of statutory powers or as part of a funeral or wedding cortege.
The usual exemptions for disabled persons' vehicles displaying a valid disabled person's badge will also apply.
TO REVOKE THE FOLLOWING ORDER
The Derbyshire County Council (Castle Hill and King Street, Duffield) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) Experimental Traffic Order 2025.
A copy of the Order and documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection at the County Council's principal offices known as County Hall on Smedley Street in Matlock, Duffield Library, Wirksworth Road, Duffield, Belper, Derbyshire, DE56 4GH during opening hours and on request by emailing Place.permanentTRO@derbyshire.gov.uk quoting reference Z3440P, until 6 weeks after the Order is made until 22nd of October 2026.
Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order, or any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the ground that a requirement of that Act or any relevant regulation made under it has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the 10th of September 2026 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
