Waterhouse Lane (C135) Kingswood
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2026

On 11 September 2026, Surrey County Council made the abovementioned Temporary Traffic Order under Sections 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:-

1. prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Waterhouse Lane (C135) Kingswood eastbound as extends from its junction with Brighton Road (A217) to its junction with Alcocks Lane (X25224); and 2. suspend “The Surrey County Council Waterhouse Lane (C135) Kingswood Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026”.

Alternative route – A217 (Brighton Road) and B2032 (Bonsor Drive), or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable SGN to facilitate gas main replacement and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 28 September 2026 for 1 month between the hours of 8.00am and 5.00pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Caterham By-Pass (A22) Caterham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 11 September 2026, Surrey County Council made the abovementioned Temporary Traffic Order under Sections 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Caterham By- Pass (A22) Caterham as extends from its junction with Godstone Road (B2030) to the roundabout forming its junction with Croydon Road (B2208).

Alternative route – A22 (Godstone Road), A23 (Purley Road, Brighton Road, Farthing Way, Brighton Road, London Road North, London Road South, London Road and Princess Way), A25 (Redstone Hill, Nutfield Road, High Street, Bletchingley Road, Castle Street, High Street, Godstone Road, Bletchingley Road (anti-clockwise only), Godstone Green (clockwise only), High Street and Oxted Road) and A22 (Godstone By-Pass, Godstone Hill and Godstone Road), or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable the Council to facilitate gully cleaning and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 2 October 2026 for 1 night between the hours of 10.00pm and 4.00am. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times. Access for residents will be maintained by escort.

Parkgate Road (C59) Newdigate Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 11 September 2026, Surrey County Council made the abovementioned Temporary Traffic Order under Sections 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Parkgate Road (C59) Newdigate as extends from its junction with Henfold Lane (D301) to its junction with Hogspudding Lane (D302).

Alternative route – Partridge Lane, Rusper Road and Village Street, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable Openreach to facilitate a new service connection and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 28 September 2026 for 1 day between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and dismounted equestrians will be maintained at all times.

Guildford Road (A246) Fetcham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 11 September 2026, Surrey County Council made the abovementioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from turning right onto Guildford Road (A246) Fetcham from:
1. Briarbank Close; and 2. High Acre Close.

Alternative route – A246 (Guildford Road).

This Order is required to enable UKPN to facilitate a new service connection and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 28 September 2026 for 2 weeks between the hours of 8.00am and 6.00pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the turn bans, which are anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and dismounted equestrians will be maintained at all times.

The Priors (D2684) Ashtead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 11 September 2026, Surrey County Council made the abovementioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of The Priors (D2684) Ashtead.

There is no alternative route for this closure.

This Order is required to enable UKPN to facilitate service cable installation and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 29 September 2026 for 1 week between the hours of 8.00am and 6.00pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services and residents will be maintained by road plates. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Chaldon Road (B2031) and Heath Road (D1426) Caterham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 11 September 2026, Surrey County Council made the abovementioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of:- 1. Chaldon Road (B2031) as extends from its junction with Sunny Rise (D1426) to its junction with Coulsdon Road (D1397); and 2. Heath Road (D1426) Caterham as extends from its junction with Chaldon Road (B2031) to a point 40 metres south of this junction.

Alternative route – 1. B2031 (Chaldon Road), B2030 (High Street, Church Road, Church Hill, Station Avenue, The Square and Godstone Road), A22 (Godstone Road, Godstone Hill and Godstone Interchange), B2235 (Godstone Hill), A25 (High Street, Godstone Green (clockwise only), Bletchingley Road, Godstone Road, High Street, Castle Street, Bletchingley Road, High Street, Nutfield Road and Redstone Hill), A23 (Marketfield Way, Princess Way, London Road, London Road South, High Street and London Road North) and B2031 (Shepherds Hill, Alderstead Lane, Dean Lane and Rook Lane), or this route in reverse. 2. B2031 (Chaldon Road), Court Road, Homestead Road and Heath Road, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable the Council to facilitate construction of a raised pedestrian crossing and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible during the 18-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 28 September 2026 for 3 weeks. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services and residents will be maintained either side of but not through the works site. Access for pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and dismounted equestrians will be maintained at all times. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.

Punchbowl Lane (D2857) Dorking Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2026

On 16 September 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Punchbowl Lane (D2857) Dorking as extends from its junction with (D305) Tilehurst Lane to its junction with (D301) Chart Lane South.
Alternative Route: Chart Lane South, (A24) Deepdene Avenue, (A25) Reigate Road, and Punchbowl Lane, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate mains water connection works for, or on behalf of SES Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, between the hours of 8am and 4.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 28 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency service vehicles, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

All other vehicular traffic will be required to follow the signed diversion route. No sole access is affected by this closure.

Meath Green Lane (D334) Horley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.4) 2026

On 16 September 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Meath Green Lane (D334) Horley as extends from its junction with the access to the property known as “The Cottage” to its junction with (X9369) Hoadley Road; (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Meath Green Lane (D334) Horley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026” insofar as it affects that length of road specified in part (a) of this Notice. Alternative Route: (1) Meath Green Lane, Lodge Lane, (A23) Bonehurst Road, (A23) Balcombe Road, (A23) Brighton Road, Horley Row, and Meath Green Lane; (2) Meath Green Lane, Horley Row, (A23) Brighton Road, (A23) Bonehurst Road, Lodge Lane, and Meath Green Lane. This Order is required to facilitate mains water connection works for, or on behalf of SES Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, between the hours of 8am and 4.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 28 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency service vehicles, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other vehicular traffic will be required to follow the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.

Waterway Road (B2122) and Guildford Road (B2122) and (D2885) Fetcham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2026

On 16 September 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to (a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified and described in the Schedule of this Notice; (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Guildford Road (D2885) Fetcham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026” insofar as it affects that length of road in the schedule of this Notice. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate drainage improvement works, and/or other associated works, which are anticipated to be carried out over 7 weeks and will be carried out as soon as possible within the 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 28 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures, and suspension, which are anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Due to the nature of the works, there will be no vehicular access through the closures, and all traffic, including emergency service vehicles will be required to use the signed diversion route.
No sole access will be affected by this closure.

Alternative Route: (B2122) Guildford Road, (A246) Young Street, (A24) By-Pass Road, (B2122) Epsom Road, (B2122) Leret Way, (A245) Bull Hill, (A245) Station Road, (B2122) Waterway Road, (B2122) Roundabout at Waterway Road, and (B2122) Guildford Road.

(b) that length of the north eastbound carriageway of Guildford Road (B2122) Fetcham as extends from its junction with the access to the property known as “United Technologies House” to its junction with the roundabout (B2122) Waterway Road. Alternative Route: (B2122) Guildford Road, (A246) Young Street, (A24) By-Pass Road, (B2122) Epsom Road, (B2122) Leret Way, (A245) Bull Hill, (A245) Station Road, (B2122) Waterway Road, (B2122) Roundabout at Waterway Road, and (B2122) Guildford Road.

(c) that length of Guildford Road (D2885) Fetcham as extends from its junction with the access to the property known as “Wallis Mews” to its junction with (B2122) Roundabout at Waterway Road. Alternative Route: (1) (B2122) Roundabout at Waterway Road, (B2122) Waterway Road, (A245) Station Road, (A245) Station Approach Road, (A245) Randalls Road, (A245) Bull Hill, North Street, Bridge Street, and Leatherhead Bridge; (2) Leatherhead Bridge, Bridge Street, North Street, (A245) Station Road, and (B2122) Waterway Road.

Ninehams Close (D1391) Caterham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 16 September 2026 Surrey County Council made the abovementioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Ninehams Close (D1391) Caterham. This Order is to facilitate major civil works of the soakaway within the carriageway and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 8 weeks, between the hours of 9am and 4pm, within the 18-month period of operation of the Temporary Order that commences on 28 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access may be restricted while works are taking place. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time, under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. There is no alternative route for this closure.

C55 Headley Road, Leatherhead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 16 September 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of C55 Headley Road, Leatherhead that extends from its junction with The Drive, to its junction with A24 By-Pass Road, including both arms of C55 Headley Road, at its junction with A24 By-Pass Road. This Traffic Order is required to enable Lenmark Construction to carry out highway improvements and/or resurfacing and/or associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out within 2 months of the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 21 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure which is anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. Access for residents, businesses and emergency services will be maintained at all times via the alternative route:- By-Pass Road, Reigate Road, Mill Way, Clay Lane, Church Lane and Headley Road.

Roundwood Way (D1005) Banstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Roundwood Way (D1005) Banstead as extends from its junction with (D1004) Nork Way to its junction with (D1006) Partridge Mead. 

Alternative Routes – Nork Way; Warren Road; and Roundwood Way or this same route in reverse. This 12-month Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 28 September 2026 is required to facilitate mains gas replacement works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of SGN within the lengths of road described in this notice. The works in are anticipated to be carried out over 5 weeks between the hours of 8am and 4pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will operate only when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents within the closure area, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other traffic, including residents and the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2) (b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.

Chapel Lane (D2530) Westhumble Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 16 September 2026 Surrey County Council made the abovementioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Chapel Lane (D2530) Westhumble as extends from its junction with (D271) Ranmore Common Road to its junction with (D2800) Adlers Lane.

Alternative route – Chapel Lane; Westhumble Street; A24 London Road/Mickleham By-Pass/London Road/Dorking Road/By-Pass Road; A246 Young Street/Guildford Road/Leatherhead Road; Dorking Road; and Chapel Lane. This Order, which will commence on 29 September 2026 for a period of 18 months is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the said roads, to be carried out by or on behalf of Surrey County Council, including but not limited to: carriageway excavation works and/or highways drainage improvement works and/or drainage maintenance and investigation works and/or any other associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over 23 days.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closures will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Vehicular access for residents, businesses and emergency service vehicles will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion routes.

Vicarage Road (D410) Lingfield Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 16 September 2026 Surrey County Council Made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 15(8)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“The Act”), the effect of which will be temporarily prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in in that length of Vicarage Road (D410) Lingfield as extends from its junction with (B2028) Plaistow Street northwards for a distance of 40 metres. The alternative routes will be (1) Vicarage Road; Church Road; and High Street; (2) Vicarage Road; Church Road; High Street; East Grinstead Road; Felcourt Road; Lingfield Road; A22 London Road/Woodcock Hill/Eastbourne Road; and Newchapel Road. The Order is required to allow for highways improvement and/or kerb buildout works and/or Puffin Crossing installation works and/or carriageway resurfacing works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Surrey County Council within the length of road described in this notice. This Temporary Traffic Order commences on 19 September 2026 and continues in force the provisions introduced by “Surrey County Council Vicarage Road (D410) Lingfield Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Notice 2026” issued under S14(2) of The Act on 07 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, as will access for emergency service vehicles in an emergency situation only. Vehicular access for residents and businesses will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion route. During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.

Whyteleafe Road (C227) Caterham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 16 September 2026 Surrey County Council made the abovementioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Whyteleafe Road (C227) Caterham as extends from its junction with (B2030) High Street, (D1429) Waller Way, and (B2030) Church Road to its junction with (D1428) Taunton Avenue. Alternative route Whyteleafe Road; Salmon Lane West; Buxton Lane; Town End; and High Street. This Order, which will commence on 01 October 2026 for a period of 18 months is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the said roads, to be carried out by or on behalf of Surrey County Council, including but not limited to: highways improvement works and/or footway widening works and/or pedestrian safety improvement works and/or any other associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible and will not take the full duration of this Order. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closures will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. Vehicular access for residents, businesses and emergency service vehicles will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion routes.

Hurst Road (C55) Walton On The Hill Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Hurst Road (C55) Walton On The Hill as extends from its junction with the access to the property known as “Twistwood Farm” to its junction with the access to the property known as “Edes Stables”. Alternative Route: Ebbisham Lane, (B2220) Chequers Lane, (B2032) Dorking Road, (B2033) Headley Common Road, Church Lane, and Hurst Lane, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate telecom pole replacement works for, or on behalf of Barr Engineering Services Ltd. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 16 October 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the banksmen on site, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

Tatsfield Approach Road (D446) Tatsfield and Moor Lane (B2028) Dormansland Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Tatsfield Approach Road (D446) Tatsfield as extends from its junction with the access to the property known as “Smokey Mountain” to its junction with (B2024) Clarks Lane. Alternative Route: Tatsfield Approach Road, Westmore Green, Ship Hill, Church Hill, (B2024) Clarks Lane, and Tatsfield Approach Road, or this route in reverse: (b) Moor Lane (B2028) Dormansland as extends from its junction with the access to the property known as “The White House” to its junction with (C85) Starborough Road. Alternative Route: (B2028) Moor Lane, (B2028) Racecourse Road, (B2028) Town Hill, (B2028) High Street, (B2028) Plaistow Street, (B2029) Godstone Road, Lingfield Common Road, Haxted Road, Lingfield Road, Mont St Aignan Way, High Street, Mill Hill, (B2028) Marsh Green Road, and Moor Lane, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate telecom blockages and pole testing works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 days, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 12 October 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the banksmen on site, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

Stane Street (A29) Ockley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Stane Street (A29) Ockley as extends from its junction with (D290) Cathill Lane to its junction with (X68812) Waleys Lane. Alternative Route: (A29) Stane Street, (A29) Beare Green Road, (A29) Ockley Road, (A24) Beare Green Roundabout, (A24) Capel By-pass, (A24) Clarks Green Roundabout, (A24) Horsham Road, (A24) Dorking Road, Marches Road, (A29) Bognor Road, and (A29) Stanes Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate drainage improvement works for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days, and will commence as soon as possible, within the 18-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 12 October 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for residents will be maintained via Cathill Lane only. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. 

All other vehicular traffic, including emergency service vehicles, will be required to follow the signed diversion route.
