DIVERSION OF PUBLIC FOOTPATH X30 (PART) AT HALL FARM, IN THE PARISH OF COTESBACH IN THE DISTRICT OF HARBOROUGH
PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2026
On 27th August 2026 Leicestershire County Council confirmed the above Order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980. The effect of the Order as confirmed (without modification) is to divert the part of Footpath X30 at Hall Farm in the Parish of Cotesbach and the District of Harborough, shown by a bold continuous line on Plan No. 2676 annexed hereto, which extends from point “A” on the plan, situate by the north eastern corner of the graveyard of St. Mary’s Church at Grid reference 45393 28246 in a meandering fashion in a generally north easterly direction through four agricultural fields for a distance of approximately 1,055 metres to point “B” on the plan situate at Grid Reference 45430 28341. (A-B as indicated on the plan). The section of footpath to be diverted has no recorded width.
A new footpath (X30) at Hall Farm in the Parish of Cotesbach and the District of Harborough, shown by a bold broken line on Plan No. 2676, annexed hereto, which extends from point “A” on the plan previously described, in a generally north easterly direction across two agricultural fields for a distance of approximately 410 metres to point “C” on the plan situate at a gap in the hedge marked by a waymark post at Grid Reference 45415 28281 and then continues in a generally east-north easterly direction through two further agricultural fields for a further distance of approximately 615 metres to point “B” on the plan, previously described. The new footpath has a width of 2 metres.
A copy of the Order as confirmed and the Order map has been placed and may be seen free of charge at Room 200, County Hall, Glenfield and the offices of Harborough District Council, The Symington Building, Adam and Eve Street, Market Harborough, Leicestershire, LE16 7AG during normal office hours. A copy has also been sent to the Clerk to Cotesbach Parish Council. Copies of the Order and map may be purchased at a cost. The Order comes into force on 27th September 2026 but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under Paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by Paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within six weeks from the date of this Notice, make an application to the High Court.
