What is happening?

OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

HENLEY HALF MARATHON,
10K & 5K RUN) (SPECIAL EVENT) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that on 12 October Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above Order under Section 16A 
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order is to facilitate the holding of the Henley Half Marathon,10k & 5k Run on Sunday 18 October, which is promoted by Craig Thornton, Kronosports Ltd, Unit G8B, Grove Park Studios, 188-192 Sutton Court Road, London, W4 3HR.

The Council is satisfied that it is not reasonably practicable for the event to be conducted fully off-road. The effect of the order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles from using the following roads between approximately 9:20am and 10:00am on 18 October:

1. A4155 Marlow Road (both lanes) from the entrance to Toad Hall 
Garden Centre to its junction with the A4130,
2. A4155 (southbound lane) between the A4130 and Kings Road,
3. A4155 Bell Street (both lanes) between Kings Road and New Street, and Bell Street one-way section between New Street and Hart Street.
4. A4130 New Street,
5. A4130 Thames Side between New Street and Hart Street,
6. A4130 (eastbound lane) over the River Bridge to the Oxfordshire Boundary.

Exemptions are included for emergency services, safety support 
vehicles, and for any emergency works to services in and 
adjoining the closed roads. Diversion routes will be signed locally.
Parts of the event will take place on roads within Buckingham 
and  Wokingham authorities. The organiser will seek highway 
restrictions from these council authorities to apply for any required 
road closures/restrictions within their areas.
