What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WARREN LANE, COTTERED) ORDER NO.2 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Warren Lane, Cottered from a point 10m south east of its junction with B1037 (unnamed road) south eastwards for a distance of approximately 60m (“the Road”), except for access.
There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 8 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 2 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE OLD COACH ROAD, COLE GREEN) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of The Old Coach Road, Cole Green from its junction with Hertingfordbury Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 40m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Hertingfordbury Road, A414 Cole Green Bypass, Birchalls Lane and The Old Coach Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 2 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Hoe Lane, Hertford Heath from a point 230m south west of its junction with A119 London Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 66m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Hoe Lane, A119 London Road, A1170 (London Road/Amwell Hill/Pepper Hill), A10 (unnamed road) and Hoe Lane.
The Order is needed because the replacement of an existing telegraph pole is proposed to be executed near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Poles Lane, Thundridge from a point 640m south west of its junction with Cambridge Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 100m (“the Road”), except for access.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Swanfield Road, Waltham Cross from its junction with Central Avenue westwards for a distance of approximately 27m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Central Avenue, Gloucester Avenue, Royal Avenue and Swanfield Road.
The Order is needed because remedial works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 21 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 2 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Byde Street, Hertford from a point 43m north east of its junction with Wellington Street north eastwards for a distance of approximately 15m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Byde Street, Wellington Street, Nelson Street, Molewood Road, Bean Road, A119 North Road, North Road, St Andrew Street, B158 (Old Cross/ Cowbridge/ Port Hill/Bengeo Street), Cross Road, Duncombe Road and Byde Street.
The Order is needed because remedial works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 21 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Vicarage Lane, Stapleford from its junction with Hertford Restricted Byway No.009 south westwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 100m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Vicarage Lane, Sacombe Road, B158 (Bengeo Street/Port Hill/Cowbridge/Old Cross/Mill Bridge/ The Wash/Parliament Square/Castle Street), A414 (Gascoyne Way/ Hertingfordbury Road), A119 (North Road/High Road) and Vicarage Lane.
The Order is needed because vegetation removal and brick work repair works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order will come into effect from 19 September 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

THE HERTFORDSHIRE (TRAPSTYLE ROAD, PARK ROAD AND THE BRICKFIELDS, WARE) (RESTRICTION OF WAITING) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council in order to improve road safety proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce new waiting restrictions in parts of Ware as specified in the Schedule to this Notice.
Documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposals may be viewed from 17 September 2026 during office hours, at Main Reception, Farnham House, Stevenage, or on-line at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/trafficorders by selecting East Herts and looking at Ref: EH01426.
