Speed Limit Restrictions, North Somerset

Consolidation Order 2024 (Variation No.13) Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that on the 10 September 2026 North Somerset Council made the following order in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The general effect of the order was to amend the North Somerset Council (Speed Limit Restrictions, North Somerset Consolidation Order 2024 to alter the speed restrictions on various roads in Worle, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset. The extent of the proposals are described in the Schedule to this Notice. The order will come into operation on the 21 September 2026 and copies of the order may be inspected at https://streets.appyway.com/north-somerset

Any person who desires to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.

Schedule - Speed Limit Restrictions: Remove the restricted road status and add a 20mph speed limit to the following roads - Annandale Avenue, Brangwyn Square, Cherrywood Road, Cherrywood Rise, Copley Gardens, Cotman Walk, Greenwood Road, Hill Road, Hill Road East, Hollow Lane, Lawrence Road, Lawrence Close, Martins Grove, Mendip Avenue, Nutwell Road, Nutwell Square, Rycroft Avenue, The Maltings, The Scaurs, Worle Court. Various roads (entire length) creating a 20mph speed limit on its entire length: Church Road - creating a 20mph speed limit from its junction with Hawthorne Hill to its junction with Lower Kewstoke Road. Ebdon Road - creating a 20mph speed limit from its junction with High Street to a point 21m beyond its junction with Hollow Lane. High Street - creating a 20mph speed limit from its junction with Annandale Avenue to its junction with The Scaurs. Lower Kewstoke Road - creating a 20mph speed limit from its continuation with The Scaurs to its junction with Esgar Rise. Madam Lane - creating a 20mph speed limit from its junction with Ebdon Road to its junction with Coalbridge Close.

Final Notice of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, made an order the effect of which:

Bath Road, Langford, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Temporary 20 mph Speed Restriction Order 2026

Date coming Into Force: 16 October 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road. Additionally, to restrict, temporarily, any vehicles from exceeding 30mph on the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services in an emergency situation.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by North Somerset to excavate 90m in verge/carriageway to install a new water main feed to housing development. This order will become operative on the 16 October 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures and restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 22 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Schedule - Bath Road - Hazel Dene approximately 40m north to field past Elm Grove cottage. Phase 1 road closure to be in place from 16 October 2026 to 22 October 2026. Phase 2 from 23 October 2026 to 6 November 2026, traffic management shall be amended to two-way temporary traffic signals with a temporary 20mph speed restriction in place through lights. Footpath Mead Vale to Starling Close, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Pedestrians Order 2026

Date coming Into Force: 2 December 2026

Ref: SW26.27-195

Will be to close, temporarily, to pedestrians the lengths of footpaths specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of footpath.

This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to lay duct in footpath. This order will become operative on the 2 December 2026 for a maximum period of six months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 2 days in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate pedestrian traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, made an order the effect of which:

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

Date coming Into Force: 28 September 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Bristol Water to install a new water supply. This order will become operative on the 28 September 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 3 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

Date coming Into Force: 28 September 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to allow safe access to boxes to provide service to a customer. This order will become operative on the 28 September 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 6 hours in duration between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2026

Date coming Into Force: 4 October 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.

This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach to demolish a carriageway box. This order will become operative on the 4 October 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 1 day in duration between 4pm and 11pm. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
