What is happening?

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL
(CHURCH ROAD, TOTTERNHOE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Church Road, Totternhoe between The Ride and number 37.

This temporary closure is required to enable ducting work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 12 to 14 October 2026 between the hours 0930-1530. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via Castle Hill Rd, Eaton Bray Rd, Totternhoe Rd, Market Square, High St, Bower Lane, Dunstable Rd, Church Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 12 October 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of

a)  Sharpenhoe Road, Sharpenhoe approx. 50 m south of entrance to Priority Farm

b)  Sharpenhoe Road, Streatley outside Hill View This temporary closure is required to enable pole replacement work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 1st to 2nd October 2026 between the hours of 0800 – 1800hrs. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route will be via Barton Rd, Sharpenhoe Rd, Luton Rd, A6, Church Rd, Sharpenhoe Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 1 October 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of each of the following roads: Norcott Close, Dunstable.

This temporary closure is required to enable Civils and Footway Resurfacing works

to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 28 September to 6 November 2026 between the hours 0800-1800. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

There is no alternative route for this closure.

This temporary closure is required to enable civils and footway resurfacing work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 28 September to 30 October 2026 between the hours 0800 and 1800 The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via Lincoln Way and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 28 September 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Boscombe Road, Dunstable at the junction with College Drive.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway patching work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 28 September 2026 between the hours 0900-1530 The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via Porz Avenue, Poynters Rd, Luton Rd, Boscombe Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 28 September 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Sundon Rd, Houghton Regis between Hilborough Crescent and Leafields.

This temporary closure is required to enable streetlighting work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 1 to 9 October 2026 between the hours 0900-1530 The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure will be via Parkside Drive, Sundon Rd and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 1 October 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Newlands Road, Hyde between M1 Bridge and London Road and Lane Closure on London Road, Hyde approx. 100m either side of junction with Newlands Road.

This temporary closure is required to enable S278 work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from

a)  Newlands Road - Road Closure from 28 September to 13 November 2026. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

b) London Road – Lane Closures from 1 September to 13 November.

The alternative route for this closure will be via B4540, Luton Rd, Dunstable Rd, A5183, B487, A1081 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 1 September 2026 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.
