Maryport - Temporary Road Closures due to Manhole Repair Works

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U2856 WOOD STREET AND U2761 CROSBY STREET, MARYPORT) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable manhole repair works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:
- U2856 Wood Street, Maryport from a point approx. 70m south east of its junction with High Street, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 40m; and
- U2761 Crosby Street, Maryport from a point approx. 50m south west of its junction with Kirkby Street, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 40m.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and suitable alternative routes for vehicles will be signed and available along the surrounding streets via the unrestricted sections of Wood Street, Crosby Street, Church Street, Lower Church Street, John Street, High Street and Kirkby Street.

The Order will come into operation on 4 October 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 1 day between 0900 and 1500 hours, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
