NOTICE OF MAKING OF AN ORDER (OTHER THAN AN ACQUISITION EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER) PUBLIC PATH CREATION ORDER, HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD BRIDLEWAY FELLING 52
The above order, made on 09 September 2026, under section 26 of the Highways Act 1980, will create a public bridleway from Manor Gardens point A on the path creation order map (grid reference 4304 / 5619) and bridleway will proceed south easterly on a tarmac track past residential properties. The track continues with a change to a dusted surface leading onto a horse box, metal gate and metal chicane. After the furniture, the route continues in a south westerly direction passing allotment gardens ending at point B on the path creation order map (grid reference 4306 / 5617) which is bridleway Felling 44. The bridleway Felling 52 is 260 metres in length, with a width of 03 metres, as shown on the order map and marked as a bold broken green line on the order map. Furniture on the route is Horse Box in accordance with British Standard BS 5709:2018, Metal Gate in accordance with British Standard BS 5709:2018 and Metal Chicane in accordance with British Standard BS 5709:2018
A copy of the order and the order map have been placed and may be viewed at the information desk on the ground floor of Gateshead Council's Civic Centre, Regent Street, Gateshead, NE8 1HH, Monday to Thursday between 8.45am and 5.00pm and Friday between 8.45am and 4.30pm or online at: www.gateshead.gov.uk/trafficschemes .
Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing to the undersigned at the above address on or before 19 October 2026. Please state the grounds on which they are made. If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Borough Council of Gateshead may confirm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.
