ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC HARLAND WAY, WEST END ROAD & NORTHGATE, COTTINGHAM

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along Harland Way, West End Road and Northgate, Cottingham junction of Harland Way and

The Woodlands to the junction of West End Road and Eppleworth Road junction of Northgate and George Street commencing Monday 5 October 2026 between 18.00 hours and 00.00 hours to enable planned highway and footway works including resurfacing of the existing carriageway and the replacement of damaged kerbs and ironwork. The road closure is necessary to enable the works to be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated that the works will be completed by Friday 30 October 2026. The alternative route for traffic affected by the road closure will be via Harland Way, A164 Beverley Road, Castle Road, Southwood Road, Baynard Avenue, West End Road, South Street, Newgate Street, Thwaite Street, New Village Road and Northgate.

The diversion route will be signed at the time of closure. Access will be maintained for residents, pedestrians and emergency services only. Further information can be obtained by contacting the council and asking for
