The Lewisham (Charged for Parking Places) (Consolidation) (Amendment No 1) Experimental Order 2026
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN The Council of the London Borough of Lewisham on 14/09/2026 made the above Traffic Management Orders under Sections 9, 10 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Orders will come into force on 28/09/2026 for a period of 18 months.
2. The effect of these Orders will be to:
(a) revoke certain lengths of existing waiting restrictions or parking places and provide on-street electric vehicle charge point parking places at the locations described in the Schedule to this Notice. Each parking place will, unless otherwise specified, be between 5 metres and 6.5 metres in length and
the number of parking places to be provided in each location is stated in the Schedule. These charging places will operate at any time and will be for the leaving of electric vehicles whilst charging;
(b) in order to accommodate the parking places referred to in paragraph (a) above, relocate existing car club parking places as follows:
(i) Abinger Grove, relocate the existing car club place on the north-west side, and currently 25 metres north-east of the north-eastern kerb-line of Dorking Close, north-eastwards by 5.5 metres:
(ii) Alverton Street, relocate the existing car club place on the south-west side opposite Akintaro House north-westwards by 5.5 metres;
(iii) Blackhorse Road, relocate the existing car club place on the south-east side opposite Deptford Trading Estate north-eastwards by 5.5 metres;
(iv) Childers Street, relocate the existing car club place on the north-east side, at the side of No. 85 Etta Street, to the south-west side, opposite the junction with Etta Street;
(v) Concorde Way, relocate the existing car club place on the north side, and currently 15 metres west of the western kerb-line of Oldfield Grove, westwards by 5.5 metres;
(vi) Staunton Street, relocate the existing car club place on the north side, and currently 19 metres south of the southern kerb line of Diana Close, northwards by 5.5 metres; and
(c) in order to accommodate the above, relocate existing cycle hangars as follows:
(i) Creekside, relocate the existing cycle hangar on the east side, currently immediately south of the existing electric vehicle recharging point parking place opposite Wilshaw House, southwards by 6 metres;
(ii) Pendrell Road, relocate the existing cycle hangar on the north side, currently opposite Forsythia House, westwards by 11 metres.
3. Copies of the made Order, plans and Statement of the Council’s Reasons for making the Order may be viewed either through the lewisham.traffweb.app website or obtained by emailing a request to
trafficorders@lewisham.gov.uk quoting reference ‘PTO1114’.
4. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
5. The Council will in due course consider whether the provisions of the Order should be continued in force indefinitely by means of permanent Orders made under sections 6 and 45 of the 1984 Act.
Any person may object to or make representations regarding the making of the permanent Order for the purpose of such indefinite continuation within a period of six months beginning with the date on which the experimental Order comes into force or, if the Order is varied by subsequent Order or
modified pursuant to section 10(2) of the 1984 Act, beginning with the date on which the variation or modification or the latest variation or modification comes into force.
6. Any such objection or representation must be made in writing and all objections must specify the grounds on which they are made and must be emailed to: trafficorders@lewisham.gov.uk or posted to Lewisham Transport Policy & Development, 5th Floor Laurence House, 1 Catford Road, London
