What is happening?
SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL
The Borough Council of Sandwell (The Uplands, Smethwick) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding via The Uplands from its junction with Beechfield Road to its junction with Clarendon Road. Traffic will be diverted via Clarendon Road, Clifton Road, Beechfield Road & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to commence and be completed by 18/09/2026 (9am - 3pm only). The Borough Council of Sandwell (Station Road, Cradley Heath) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding via Station Road from the entrance to Lidl’s Car Park to the extended boundary of No’s 10/12. Traffic will be diverted via Beauty Bank, Halesowen Road & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 07/10/2026, effective from 21/09/2026. The Borough Council of Sandwell (Foley Drive, Oldbury) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding via Foley Drive from its junction with the north-western side of the entrance to Foley Drive Car Park for a distance of 25 metres in a north-westerly direction. Traffic will be diverted via Tame Road, Kingsway & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 26/09/2026, effective from 23/09/2026 (7pm - 6am only). Purpose – to facilitate the replacement of a damaged telecoms pole by Clearview Services Group for Hutchinson 3G. The Borough Council of Sandwell (Handley Street, Wednesbury) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding via Handley Street for 10 metres either side of the extended kerblines of Sheldon Avenue for a distance of 5 metres from its junction with Handley Street. Traffic will be diverted via Vicarage Road, Churchfields Road & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to commence and be completed by 24/09/2026 (9:30am - 3:30pm only).
