What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -

SECTION 14

THE M62 MOTORWAY (LANGHAM

INTERCHANGE TO HOWDEN

INTERCHANGE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that

National Highways Limited intends to

make an Order on the M62 Motorway,

in the East Riding of Yorkshire, to

enable site clearance, lighting, renewal

and installation of vehicle restraint

systems, carriageway road markings

and resurfacing, electrical, horticultural,

drainage and routine maintenance works

to be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to start on

Saturday 10 October 2026 for 6 weeks,

or until completed, and will take place

Monday to Saturday nights between 8pm

and 6am.

The effect of the Order will be, at times

during the works, to close the:

(i) M62 eastbound carriageway from the

exit slip road at Langham Interchange

(M62 Junction 35 and M18 Junction

7) to the entry slip road at Howden

Interchange (M62 Junction 37),

a distance of 10800 metres;

(ii) link road connecting M18 northbound

carriageway to the M62 eastbound

carriageway at Langham Interchange;

(iii) M62 eastbound exit and entry slip roads

at Goole Interchange (Junction 36; and

(iv) M62 eastbound exit slip road at

Howden Interchange.

During the closures suitably signed

alternative routes will be available.

Traffic signs will indicate the extent of

the prohibitions (which will not apply to

emergency service vehicles or vehicles

being used in connection with the said

works or for winter maintenance or traffic

officer purposes). The Order comes

into force on 9 October 2026 and has a

maximum duration of eighteen months.
