PLEASE NOTE THIS NOTICE REPLACES THE ONE PUBLISHED 9th SEPTEMBER 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport has extended the Order to close temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 (as amended) part of the lengths of footpaths as described in the Schedule below.
Schedule
Part of Public Footpath EEA 46 from its junction with the A38 extending in a generally south easterly direction for approximately 1500 metres to its junction with public footpath EEA 49 at OSGR.
Part of Public Footpath EEA 41 from its junction with public footpath EEA 76 extending in a generally south easterly direction for approximately 320 metres to its junction with Road, Spring Hill.
Part of Public Footpath EWH 17 from a point approximately 300 metres east of its junction of the A38 extending in a generally north easterly direction for approximately 250 metres to its junction with the A419.
The closure is necessary to protect the public due to canal construction works.
This temporary closure Order came into force on the 13th April 2026 and was expected to terminate on the 13th October 2026. However, works have still not been completed, and the Secretary of State has granted an extension of the closure until 13th April 2028 or until the works are completed, whichever is earliest.
Alternative Route; as indicated on Order Plan. Emergency Service access and pedestrian access to any adjoining premises will be maintained.
