CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO AMEND NO WAITING AT ANY TIME ON ASPLEY HILL, ASPLEY GUISE
Reason for proposal: The revocation of existing waiting restrictions will increase the availability of on-street parking for residents of Aspley Hill, where off-street parking provision is limited. The introduction of waiting restrictions opposite Downham Road will maintain clear visibility and access at the junction, minimise the potential for vehicle conflict, and support the safe and efficient operation of the highway network.
Please note that the existing waiting restrictions subject to revocation were removed during recent carriageway resurfacing works. The Council is therefore undertaking this consultation retrospectively to seek the views of residents and other stakeholders before determining whether the restrictions should be formally reinstated or revoked.
Effect of the Order:
To revoke No Waiting at Any Time on the following length of road in Aspley Guise:-
1. A spley Hill, south side, from a point approximately in line with the south-western flank wall belonging to No. 12 Aspley Hill and extending in a north-easterly direction for approximately 90 metres, ending approximatley 10 metres south-east of the centre of the junction with Downham Road. To introduce No Waiting at Any Time on the following length of road in Aspley Guise:-
1. A spley Hill, south side, from the centre of the junction with Downham Road and extending in a south-westerly direction for approximately 10 metres.
2. A spley Hill, south side, from the centre of the junction with Downham Road and extending in a north-easterly direction for approximately 14 metres (ending in line with exisitng waiting restrcitons on the opposite side of the road).
