Notice of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order
Notice is hereby given that North Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:
Battery Lane, Portishead, North Somerset
Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles Order 2027
Date coming Into Force: 5 April 2027

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services, works access, works vehicles and as works permit for premises which may only be accessed via the closed section of road.
This order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Wales & West Utilities for gas mains replacement. This order will become operative on the 5 April 2027 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 68 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
Schedule - Battery Lane from junction of Esplanade Road to outside Seabank. Vehicle passing places will be provided.

Notice is hereby given that North Somerset District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intend to make an order the effect of which:

Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles and Cyclists
Date coming into force: 14 September 2026

Will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles and cyclists the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice.
This order was required because of carriageway and footway resurfacing works and will become operative on 14 September 2026, anticipated to be of 20 days. Work will take place between 8am and 5pm. The maximum period for the closure is eighteen months, however, the closure may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works.

This order will become operative on the 28 September 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by Openreach for a pole replacement. This order will become operative on the 2 October 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the closures may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 1 day in duration starting after 9.30am. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.

Temporary 30 mph Speed Restriction Order 2026
Date coming Into Force: 28 September 2026

Will be to restrict, temporarily, any vehicles from exceeding 30mph on the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. Exemptions are included for emergency services in any emergency situation.
This order was required because of the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon work by R K Bell Projects to enable traffic management at the new Epic campus development site with a speed limit reduction to 30mph. This order will become operative on the 28 September 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. However, the restrictions may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only as necessitated by the works which is anticipated to be of 185 days in duration. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed when the measures are in force.
Schedule - Long Ashton Bypass from 300m before Gurney roundabout towards Bristol, to 330m after roundabout. Colliters Way from Gurney roundabout for 730m.
