Public Footpaths 63, 74, 75 & 80 (Egham) and Public Footpaths 174 & 175 (Chobham) Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order 2026
On 10 September 2026 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Footpath 63 (Egham) from London Road to Bourneside, Public Footpath 74 (Egham) from Public Footpath 174 (Chobham) to Public Footpath 63 (Egham), Public Footpath 75 (Egham) from Public Footpath 74 (Egham) to Public Footpath 175 (Chobham), Public Footpath 80 (Egham) from the County boundary to Public Footpath 174 (Chobham), Public Footpath 174 (Chobham) from Public Footpath 80 (Egham) to Public Footpath 74 (Egham) and Public Footpath 175 (Chobham) from its southern end to Public Footpath 75 (Egham).
The Order is necessary in the interest of public security and safety due to the PGA golf championship.
The closure will be in operation for a period of 7 days from 14 September 2026 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
There is no alternative route.
“The Surrey County Council Public Footpaths 63, 74, 75 & 80 (Egham) and Public Footpaths 174 & 175 (Chobham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026” was made by the County Council under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
