What is happening?

The North Yorkshire Council, Footway (33380027) From 27 The Chase to 21 Kingston Drive, Norton on Derwent, Cycle Tracks Order 2026

Notice is hereby given that The North Yorkshire Council proposes to make an Order in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by Section 3 (1) of the Cycle Tracks Act 1984, having obtained the written consents required by Section 3(2) of that Act & having undertaken the consultations required by Regulation 3 of the Cycle Tracks Regulations 1984 & all other enabling powers as specified in the schedule below:-

The section of footpath proposed as a cycle track is the full length of the footpath between The Chase & Kingston Drive (33380027) in the Town of Norton.

The extents begin at Point ‘A’ on the below map at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference SE 79726 70769 then proceeding in a northerly direction to Point ‘B’ at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference SE 79729 70778 & then proceeding in an easterly direction to Point ‘C’ at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference SE 79845.

A copy of the draft Order, together with a map showing the roads affected & a statement of the Council's reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at County Hall, Northallerton & at Norton Hive Library & Community Hub, 86 Commercial Street, Malton YO17 9ES during normal office hours from 16/09/26 to 16/10/26 & also viewed online at www.northyorks.gov.uk/traffic-roadworks-map or www.northyorks.gov.uk/traffic-regulation-orders.

If you wish to object to the proposed Order, you should send the grounds for your objection, in writing, addressed to Area 4 Kirby Misperton Highways Office, Beansheaf Industrial Park, Tots Road, Kirby Misperton, Malton, North Yorkshire YO17 6BG or by email to Area4.Kirbymisperton@northyorks.gov.uk or via the website link above by 16/10/26.
