What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(VARIOUS ROAD, WEST BRIDGFORD
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITIONS) ORDER 2026 (R26-237)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at West Bridgford in the Borough of Rushcliffe.

The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road:

a. Exchange Road, West Bridgford - From its junction with Rectory Road to a point 30 metres in a southerly direction.

b. Rectory Road, West Bridgford - (One-Way Road Closure, East Bound Traffic) - From its junction with Exchange Road to its junction with Central Avenue.

c. Gordon Road, West Bridgford - (One-Way Road Closure, North Bound Traffic) - From its junction with Rectory Road to a point 70 metres in a southerly direction.

2. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting, loading and unloading in the following length of road at West Bridgford in the Borough of Rushcliffe:-

a. Albert Road, West Bridgford - (Both Sides) (At Any Time) - Whole length of the road.

b. Violet Road, West Bridgford - (Both Sides) (At Any Time) - Whole length of the road.

3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.

4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From Monday 28th September 2026
Until Friday 20th November 2026 inclusive

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
a. Exchange Road, West Bridgford
Clumber Road - Melton Road - Musters Road - Rectory Road - Vice Versa
b. Rectory Road, West Bridgford
Musters Road - Melton Road - Burleigh Road - Gordon Road - Vice Versa
c. Gordon Road, West Bridgford
Rectory Road - Musters Road - Melton Road - Burleigh Road - Vice Versa

The Order will come into force on 28th September 2026 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).

The prohibition is required to enable Cadent Gas to carry out mains replacement works.
