What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
MILLINGTON LANE, KILNWICK PERCY

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which
will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along
Millington Lane, Kilnwick Percy from its junction with
B1246 Kilnwick Road to its junction with Martin Lane
commencing 21 September 2026 at 08.00 hours
until 23 September 2026 at 18.00 hours due to the
road width being too narrow and unable to maintain
widths. The road closure is necessary to enable the
works to be carried out in a manner consistent with
ensuring the safety of the public. The Order is valid for
18 months, but it is anticipated that the works will be
completed within three days. The alternative route for
traffic affected by the road closure will be via B1246
Kilnwick Road, London Street, Bridge Street, The Mile,
Swineridge Lane and Martin Lane, Nunburnholme CP,
Millington CP, Pocklington CP, Pocklington Provincial
Ward, Wolds Weighton Ward. The diversion route
will be signed at the time of closure. The road will
be closed to all through traffic but access will be
maintained for residents, emergency vehicles and
pedestrians. Further information can be obtained
