What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
CARR LANE, NEWTON UPON DERWENT


Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which
will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along
Carr Lane, Newton Upon Derwent starting outside
Marlbeck to opposite Beck Farm commencing
28 September 2026 to allow works for directionally
drilling approximately 1150 metres in the carriageway
plus service connections for fire hydrants and valves.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public. The Order is valid for 18 months,
but it is anticipated that the works will be completed
within 47 days. The alternative route for traffic affected
by the road closure will be via Carr Lane, Hull Road,
Bush Corner Layby, York Road, Wilberfoss Road, Back
Road and Bull Balk, Newton on Derwent CP, Barmby
Moor CP, Wilberfoss CP, Pocklington Provincial Ward.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all traffic but
access will be maintained for emergency vehicles.
