HYSBYSIR drwy hyn fod Cyngor Dinas Casnewydd, wrth arfer ei bwerau o dan adran 84 o Ddeddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984 (fel y'i diwygiwyd) ac unrhyw bwerau galluogi eraill, ac ar ôl ymgynghori â Phrif Swyddog yr Heddlu, wedi gwneud y Gorchymyn uchod ar 14 Medi 2026, a fydd dirymu’r terfyn cyflymder 30 mya presennol ar y darn o'r ffordd a nodir yn yr Atodlen isod. NEWPORT CITY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS, NEWPORT) (20 MPH AND 30 MPH SPEED LIMITS) (AMENDMENT NO. 1) ORDER 2026
NOTICE is hereby given that Newport City Council in exercise of its powers under section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and any other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police has, on 14th September 2026 made the above Order, the effect of which will be to revoke the extents of the existing 30 mph speed limit on the length of road specified in the Schedule below. This length of road will revert to restricted road status and will be subject to the default speed limit of 20 mph due to the presence of street lighting.
The order will come into operation on 21st September 2026.
The order and a map showing the affected roads can be requested by emailing conveyancing.team@newport.gov.uk. If you wish to question the validity of the order, or of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the order, you may, within six weeks from 14th September 2026 apply to the High Court for this purpose.
