What is happening?

Notice is given that the Council of the City of Peterborough has made an Order pursuant to section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:

The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order 2026 – Swallowfield Ref: 27-209

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Swallowfield, as lies between numbers 49, 58, 27 and 50. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: None available. The proposed order will come into force on the 16/09/2026 and will continue until the duct installation works have been completed or until the 15/09/2027, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place between the 16/09/2026 and the 18/09/2026. The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order 2026 – Church Street, Northborough Ref: 27-208

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Church Street, Northborough, as lies between St Andrews Church and 15A Church Street. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: Peakirk Road, Deeping St James Road, Lincoln Road and vice versa. The proposed order will come into force on the 14/09/2026 and will continue until the sewer lining works have been completed or until the 13/09/2027, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place between the 14/09/2026 and the 18/09/2026. The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order – Orton Longueville 9 Section 1 Footpath 2026 Ref: 27-207

The effect of which is to stop any pedestrian or cyclist from proceeding along the footpath/cycle path known as Orton Longueville 9 Section 1 Footpath, for it’s entire length. The Council is satisfied that pedestrians and cyclists should be prohibited due to works being proposed to be executed on the above footpath/cycle path. The alternative route for pedestrians and cyclists affected by this Order is: Lady Lodge Drive, Charles Cope Road, footpaths side of 16 Charles Cope Road. The Order will come into operation on the 14/09/2026 and will continue until the cut and patch works have been completed or until the 13/03/2027, whichever is the earlier. The City of Peterborough, Paston Parkway Belvoir Way westbound off-slip, Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions)  Act 1991, (Temporary Restriction of Through Traffic),  Notice 27-200 2026 Ref: 27-200

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Paston Parkway Belvoir Way westbound off-slip, for its entire length. Access will be maintained to properties affected by this Notice. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: A15 Paston Parkway, A47 Soke Parkway, Soke Parkway junction 19 off slip, Fulbridge Road, St Pauls Road, Dosgthorpe Road, Elmfield Road, Central Avenue, Eastern Avenue, Scalford Drive, Belvoir Way. This notice is made in the interest of street lighting maintenance works and will remain effective for no more than 5 days from 14/09/2026. The Notice shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which it is made, any member of the Police Force, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or any person acting with permission or upon the direction of a police Officer in uniform. The City of Peterborough, Old North Road, Wansford, Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, (Temporary Restriction of Through Traffic), Notice 27-217 2026 Ref: 27-217

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Old North Road (Wansford), as lies between A47 and Black Swan Spinney. There are no properties affected by this Notice. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the A1 southbound. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: A47, Old Leicester Road, Wansford Road, Old North Road. This notice is made in the interest of A1 southbound closure and will remain effective for no more than 5 days from 12/09/2026. Works are expected to take place overnight only, 21:00 to 05:00, on 12th and 13th September 2026. The Notice shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which it is made, any member of the Police Force, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or any person acting with permission or upon the direction of a police Officer in uniform.
