NOTICE OF MAKING OF A PUBLIC PATH ORDER

HIGHWAYS ACT 1980

YORKSHIRE DALES NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY

FOOTPATH 1,19,2 LECK PARISH DIVERSION ORDER 2026

The above order, made on 8 September 2026 under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980, will divert the section of public footpath at Crow Trees Farm, Leck, that runs from grid reference SD 6415 7667 (point A on the order map) on public footpath 1,19,2 in a north westerly direction to SD 6407 7676 at point F (total length: 125 metres), so as to run, instead, from point A at SD 6415 7667 on public footpath 1,19,2 in a generally northerly direction for 21 metres to point B at SD 6414 7669. Here, the definitive width of the footpath widens to 3 metres to take account of a camber, for a distance of 22 metres, in a north north westerly direction to point C at SD 6413 7671. From here the route proceeds in a north north westerly direction for 39 metres to a new hand gate at point D at SD 6411 7674. The route continues in a north north westerly direction for 38 metres to point E at SD 6409 7677, where it then bears south west for 25 metres to point F at SD 6407 7676 on public footpath 1,19,2 (total length 145 metres) as shown on the order map. All distances stated are approximate. The order will not take effect unless and until it is confirmed.

Any representations about or objections to the order may be sent in writing to The Solicitor, Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, Yoredale, Bainbridge, Leyburn, North Yorkshire, DL8 3EL not later than 8 October 2026. Please state the grounds on which they are made.

Please note that objections/representations cannot be treated as confidential and may come into the public domain. Copies of any objections or representations received may be disclosed to interested parties, including the Planning Inspectorate where the case is referred to it for determination.

If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority may confirm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs for confirmation, any representations and objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.
