Multiple roads, Aldershot town centre - Restrictions on waiting and one-way traffic
What is happening?
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council made the above-mentioned Orders on Tuesday 8th 2026, in exercise of its powers and duties under 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Act and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act, and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act.
GENERAL NATURE AND EFFECTS OF THE ORDERS: Will be to impose a prohibition of driving (Except for local buses and taxis) on Court Road operating in conjunction with a one-way traffic system whereby local buses may only travel southbound, and taxis may only travel northbound through the prohibition of driving zone. AND To revoke several instances of No Waiting at Any Time; Limited Waiting bays; Loading Only; Pay & Display parking bays and taxi ranks on several roads in Aldershot Town Centre and reinstate them elsewhere on the same roads. This will have the effect of increasing the amount of taxi ranks and decreasing the amount of limited waiting and Pay & Display bays in Aldershot Town Centre.
DATE OF OPERATION: The order will come into force on Saturday 19th 2026.

APPLICATION TO THE HIGH COURT: Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Act, or that any of the relevant requirements of the Act or of any relevant instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, by Tuesday 20th October 2026 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
