The County Council of Durham (Alpine Way, Tow Law) (Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2026

The Council on 9/9/2026 made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, to prohibit all pedestrian traffic from proceeding on the following lengths of footpath. 1. A 90 metre length extending north from Station Street at the side of No 32, easterly, northerly and easterly to the rear and side of No 57-51 and 2. a 20 metre length to the side of No. 34 to enable footpath improvement works to be undertaken. Alternative routes will be available to pedestrian traffic via other local footways of Alpine Way and Station Street. The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months. The works commenced under 5-day Temporary Traffic Regulation Notice on Wednesday 9/9/2026 and now require extending from Monday 14/9/2026 for approximately 4 weeks. On occasions, alternative dates for the closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
