What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS IN THE CUMBERLAND AREA) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) (NO.16) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached Schedule.
Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 28 September 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for as stated in the schedule and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES
1. C1024 How Street, Near Hayton – From 28 September 2026 for approx. 2 days (Ref:TTROC/19569)
From a point approx. 230m east of its junction with the U1202, extending in an easterly direction for approx. 90m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C1024, C1035, Faugh and C1026 Heads Nook to Corby Hill
2. U1189, Moorthwaite, Near Scarrowhill – From 28 September 2026 for approx. 4 days (Ref:TTROC/19571)
From its junction with the C1026, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 740m.
There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.
3. U2147 and C2048, Brackenthwaite – From 29 September 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref:TTROC/19107)
(i) U2147, from its junction with the B5305 to its junction with the C2048; and
(ii) C2048, from a point approx. 50m south west of its junction with the U2148, extending in an overall westerly direction for approx. 1.4km.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C2048, A595, B5305, and U2069.
4. U1194 and C1026, Faugh – From 1 October 2026 for approx. 9 days (Ref:TTROC/19575)
(i) U1194 from its junction with the C1026, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 330m; and
(ii) C1026 from its junction with the U1194, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 240m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C1026, Heads Nook to Corby Hill, C1024, and C1035 Faugh.
5. C2017, Near Abbeytown – From 5 October 2026 for approx. 1 week (Ref:TTROC/19010)
From its junction with the B5302, extending in a south westerly direction to its junction with the U2045.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C1017, B5301, Coldmire Road, C2015, and B5302.
6. U2066, Near Thursby – From 5 October 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref:TTROC/19267)
From its junction with the A595, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 1.8km.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U2066, B5302, A596 to Thursby, and A595.
7. C2020, Bolton New Houses – From 6 October 2026 for approx. 1 week (Ref:TTROC/19204)
From its junction with the U2134, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 1.7km.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the C2020, B5299, Boltongate, A595, and C2041.
8. U2069, Brackenthwaite – From 8 October 2026 for approx. 5 days (Ref:TTROC/19104)
From its junction with B5305, extending in a northerly direction to its junction with the C2048.
Alternative Route: via the C2048, U2148, and B5305.
9. U1221, Hornsby – From 12 October 2026 for approx. 5 days (Ref:TTROC/19572)
From its junction with the C1026, extending in an overall southerly direction for its entire length.
There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.
10. C2044, Bolton Low Houses – From 13 October 2026 for approx. 3 days (Ref:TTROC/19342)
From its junction with the C2020, extending in a westerly direction for approx. 1.5km.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C2044, A595, C2041, and C2020.
11. U1192, Clints Road, Great Corby – From 13 October 2026 for approx. 2 days (Ref:TTROC/19568)
From its junction with the U1191 Burnrigg Road, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 210m.
Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the U1192, C1027, Great Corby to Warwick Bridge, A69, and U1191 Burnrigg Road.
