Bristol - Restriction Of Waiting And Disabled Persons’ Parking Places Order

(VARIOUS ROADS, RIDINGLEAZE AREA, AVONMOUTH AND LAWRENCE WESTON WARD, CITY OF BRISTOL) 
(PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING) (DISABLED PERSONS’ PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2026

The City Council of Bristol hereby gives NOTICE that on 10th September 2026 it made a traffic order, the effect of which is:-

(a) to introduce prohibition of waiting arrangements for vehicles in lengths of:-

(i) both sides of Astry Close, Awdelett Close, Brookthorpe Avenue, Commonfield Road, Kirkby Road, Littlemead, Meere Bank, Oakhanger Drive and Ottery Close, and

(ii) Capel Road, eastern side and north west side;

(b) to add additional lengths of prohibition of waiting for vehicles in Broadlands Drive; and

(c) to revoke the City Council of Bristol (City Council of Bristol (Various Roads, Long Cross and Ridingleaze Area, Avonmouth and Lawrence Weston Ward, City of Bristol) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Disabled Persons’ Parking Places) Order 2020 – all provisions are brought forward unamended into the new order, alongside the revision in item (b) above.

Modifications: The additional prohibition in Capel Road, eastern side, is a modification to the original proposals (published on 23rd February 2026, Reference CAE/NMT/P-1334) following the consideration of representations subsequently made to the Council.

Anomalies between the traffic order and on-site road markings/signs relating to prohibition of waiting in Ridingleaze are also corrected.

The order will come into operation on 25th September 2026 and a copy thereof, together with annexed plans, a Statement of the Council’s Reasons for proposing to make the order and a copy of the order to be revoked may be inspected (in digital format) at the Citizen Service Point, 100 Temple Street, Bristol, BS1 6AG, between 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. on Monday to Friday.

Any person who desires to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in the traffic orders on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with may within six weeks after the date on which the traffic order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
