NOTICE OF TRAFFIC ORDERS FOR TEMPORARY ROAD AND FOOTPATH CLOSURES
Notice is given that SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL intend to make the following orders:
(STR001402 York Road, Swindon) This Order is introduced for THAMES WATER WORKS and will impose prohibition of driving on York Road alleyway to the rear of No 7. Access to be maintained. The Order comes into force on the 5 October 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 5 to 7 October 2026.
(STR001403 High Street, Blunsdon) This Order is introduced for THAMES WATER WORKS and will impose prohibition of driving on High Street outside No’s 74 and 76. Traffic to be diverted via Ermin Street, B4019, Sams Lane and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 28 October 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place on the 28 October 2026 only.
(STR001407 Nell Hill, Hannington) This Order is introduced for THAMES WATER WORKS and will impose prohibition of driving on Nell Hill, outside Nell House. Traffic to be diverted via B4019, A419, un-named road to Castle Eaton, The Street, continue towards Kempsford, Mount Pleasant, High Street, Kempsford towards Hannington Lane. The Order comes into force on the 12 October 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 12 to 14 October 2026.
(STR001438 A5259 Marlborough Road, Swindon) This Order is introduced for OPENREACH WORKS and will impose prohibition of driving on A4259 Marlborough Road at the junction with Day House Lane. Access to Day House Lane to be maintained. The Order comes into force on the 22 October 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 22 and 23 October 2026.
(TR001438 Kingsdown Road, South Marston) This Order is introduced for S278 HIGHWAY WORKS and will impose prohibition of driving on Kingsdown Road outside of Kingsdown Retirement Village. Traffic to be diverted via A361 Highworth Road, Ermin Street, B141 Kingsdown Road and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 22 October 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 22 October and 1 November 2026.
(STR001426 Whitehart Roundabout, Swindon) This Order is introduced for NATIONAL HIGHWAY WORKS TO A419 OVERBRIDGE and will impose prohibition of driving as follow: Whitehart Roundabout between the exit of Merlin Way and entry onto Whitehart Roundabout, traffic to be diverted via Merlin Way down to roundabout to return back to Whitehart Roundabout. The exit of Whitehart Roundabout on to Merlin Way traffic to be diverted Oxford Road A4312, Dorcan Way, Covingham Drive to rejoin Merlin Way. The Order comes into force on the 21 October 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place overnight on 21 and 23 October and overnight on 22 and 23 October 2026 between the times of 20:00 and 06:00 hours.
(STR001424 Goddard Avenue, Old Town) This Order is introduced for THAMES WATER WORKS and will impose prohibition of driving on Goddard Avenue at the junction with Bath Road. Traffic to be diverted via Westlecot Road, Springfield Road, Croft Road, Devizes Road, Bath Road and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 27 October 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place on 27 October 2026 between the times of 09:30 and 15:30.
(STR001423 Edale Moor, Liden) This Order is introduced for OPENREACH WORKS and will impose a temporary closure of Edale Moor outside No’s 31 and 33. Pedestrian to be diverted via alternative footpaths. The Order comes into force on the 27 October 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 27 to 29 October 2026.
(STR001420 Badbury Lane, Badbury) This Order is introduced for NETWORKPLUS WORKS and will impose prohibition of driving on Badbury Lane south of Downsview Care Centre. Traffic to be diverted via un-named road leading to Chiseldon, A346 Marlborough Road, The Ridgeway and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 5 October 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 5 to 9 October 2026.
(STR001417 Prospect Place, Swindon) This Order is introduced for WALES AND WEST UTILITIES WORKS and will impose prohibition of driving on Prospect Place between Union Row and Prospect Mews. Also temporary suspension of the one way on Prospect Place and no entry onto Bath Road from Prospect Place to be suspended. Traffic to be diverted via Bath Road and Victoria Road. The Order comes into force on the 26 October 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 26 to 30 October 2026.
(STR001414 Stafford Street, Swindon) This Order is introduced for THAMES WATER WORKS and will impose prohibition of driving on Stafford Street at the junction of Raggett Street. Traffic to be diverted via Stafford Street, Hythe Road, Lansdown Road and Eastcott Hill. The Order comes into force on the 19 October 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place between 19 to 21 October 2026.
