What is happening?
THE NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL
(EASTON, HALL ROAD AND MARLINGFORD ROAD) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 202X AND NOTICE 2026
The Norfolk County Council propose to make the following Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:
The Norfolk County Council (Easton, Various Roads) (30mph Speed Limit) Consolidation and Variation Order 202X
The effect of this Order will be to
1. Consolidate The Norfolk County Council (Easton) (30 mph Speed Limit) Order 2004 (“the 2004 Order”) whereby the existing speed restrictions on the existing roads will not be changed except as detailed below
2. Vary the 2004 Order by removing the following lengths of road from the 2004 Order:

| U78085 Hall Road | From its junction with the C168 Marlingford Road south-eastwards for a distance of 80 metres. |
| C168 Marlingford Road | From its junction with the C574 Dereham Road southwards to a point 65 metres south of the southern channel of its junction with the U78085 Hall Road. |
3. Vary the 2004 Order to insert the following lengths of road:

| U78085 Hall Road | From its junction with C168 Marlingford Road south-east for a distance of 207 metres. |
| C168 Marlingford Road | From its junction with the C574 Dereham Road southwards, westwards and south-eastwards to a point 150 metres southeast of its junction with the U71885 Jubilee Way. |
The effect of these proposals is to extend the 30mph along Hall Road by 127 metres and along Marlingford Road by 150 metres. The 2004 Order is proposed to be consolidated for clarity and efficient administration of the restrictions. As part of the consolidation the 2004 Order is being updated to reflect current legislation, being clarified to make it clearer and being amended to correct minor errors

(Prohibition of Motor Vehicles) Order 202X
The effect of this Order will be to prohibit motorised vehicles along the following length of road:

The Norfolk County Council (Easton, Marlingford Road)
Cycle Track/Footway Notice 2026
Under Sections 65(1), 66(1) and 66(4) of the Highways Act 1980, Norfolk County Council propose to install a shared use footway/cycle track (with rights of way on foot) at the following location:

The conversion of the above length of highway will result in the provision of a shared-use cycle track and footway up to 5.4 metres in width. Pedestrians and cyclists will have joint use and will not be segregated.
A copy of the draft Orders, the 2004 Order being varied, a plan and a Statement of Reasons for making the Orders can be viewed online at www.norfolk.citizenspace.com. Copies are also available for inspection at Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Norwich, NR1 2DH and at the offices of South Norfolk District Council, The Horizon Centre, Peachman Way, Broadland Business Park, Norwich, NR7 0WF during normal office hours. Online viewing is recommended.
Any objections and representations relating to the proposed Orders must be made in writing and must specify the grounds on which they are made. Comments may also be made on the proposed cycle track/footway notice. All correspondence for this proposal must be received at the office of nplaw, Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Martineau Lane, Norwich, NR1 2DH, marked for the attention of the nplaw Traffic Regulation Order Team by 6th October 2026.
