LONDON BOROUGH OF SUTTON
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Sutton on 7 September 2026 made the following Order: The Sutton (Parking, Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) (Amendment No. 55) Order 2026 under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 (insofar as applicable) to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all other powers thereunto enabling.
2. The general effect of the Order which will come into force 21 September 2026 is as follows:
(a) extend no waiting restrictions operating ‘at any time’ (double yellow lines) in Edinburgh Road, opposite Nos. 13 and 15.
(b) introduce waiting restrictions operating Monday to Friday 8am to 9am and 3pm to 4pm (single yellow lines) in: –
(i) Duke of Edinburgh Road, outside Nos. 2 to 8; and
(ii) Surrey Grove, adjacent No. 94, outside Nos. 106 to 108 and opposite Nos. 96 to 106.
Please note that the following proposals, which were originally published in the London Gazette on 26 February 2026; are as follows: –
(i) introduce waiting restrictions operating Monday to Saturday 8am to 9am and 3pm to 4pm (single yellow lines); in Duke of Edinburgh Road and Surrey Grove. These proposals have been amended as detailed in item 2(b) above; and
(ii) introduce waiting restrictions operating Monday to Saturday 8am to 9am and 3pm to 4pm (single yellow lines) in Surrey Grove, outside Nos. 66 to 68 and outside No. 29a to No. 1 Royston Avenue; This proposal has been withdrawn.
3. From 21 September 2026, Copies of the Order, of the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the Order and map-based schedules showing the location and the effects of the Order may be inspected as follows: –
(a) online at https://streets.appyway.com/sutton selecting the road name and restriction as detailed item 2 above;
(b) Council’s Civic Offices St Nicholas Way, Sutton, SM1 1EA; or
(c) by calling 020 8770 5000.
4. If any person wishes to question the validity of this Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of the said Act of 1984 or of any instrument made under the said Act of 1984 has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
