LONDON BOROUGH OF SUTTON
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Sutton on 7 September 2026 made the following Order: The Sutton (Parking, Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) (Amendment No. 54) Order 2026 under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 (insofar as applicable) to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and all other powers thereunto enabling.
2. The general effect of the Order which will come into force 21 September 2026 is as follows:
(a) introduce waiting restrictions operating ‘at any time’ (double yellow lines) in
(i) St Phillip’s Avenue, outside Nos 28 to 29; and
(ii) Washington Road, outside Nos. 71 to 77.
(b) amend the map-based tiles attached to The Sutton (Parking, Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) Order 2023; to match conditions as they exist on site.
Please note that the proposal to introduce a motorcycle only parking bay in place of a limited time parking bay in Caldbeck Avenue, adjacent to No. 114 Central Road which was originally published in the London Gazette on 10 October 2024; has been withdrawn.
3. From 21 September 2026, copies of the Order, of the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the Order and map-based schedules showing the location and the effects of the Order may be inspected as follows:
(a) online at https://streets.appyway.com/sutton selecting the road name and restriction as detailed item 2 above;
(b) Council’s Civic Offices St Nicholas Way, Sutton, SM1 1EA; or
(c) by calling 020 8770 5000.
4. If any person wishes to question the validity of this Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of the said Act of 1984 or of any instrument made under the said Act of 1984 has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
