What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14

THE M62 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 6 – TARBOCK ISLAND ROUNDABOUT AND SLIP ROADS)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 09346363) intends to make an Order on the M62 Motorway, in the Borough of Knowsley, in the County of Merseyside, to enable resurfacing and white lining works and all associated works to be carried out in safety by Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council.

The Order will on the following sections of the M62 Motorway:
i. ban all traffic from the eastern side of the Tarbock Roundabout, from the Cronton Road (western arm) to the Expressway exit slip road;

ii. ban all traffic from the western side of the Tarbock Roundabout, from the Expressway entry slip road to the Windy Arbor northbound;

iii. ban all traffic from the eastbound entry slip road at J6;

iv. ban all traffic from the. westbound exit slip road at J6

The prohibitions are expected to be in place overnight between 20:00 and 05:00 during a period starting on Saturday 10 October 2026 and ending on Saturday 23 January 2026.

However, work may start and continue between the same times on subsequent nights until completed. Diversion routes via alternative junctions of the M62 Motorway, and local roads will be well signed.

The prohibitions will not apply to emergency services, special-forces vehicles, works or traffic officer vehicles. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by traffic signs.
