HYSBYSIR DRWY HYN bod CYNGOR SIR FYNWY, Neuadd y Sir, y Rhadyr, Brynbuga, NP15 1GA ("y Cyngor") Wedi gwneud Gorchymyn yn unol â'r pwerau a roddwyd gan Adran 14(1)(a) o Ddeddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffyrdd 1984: 

1. Daeth y Gorchymyn i rym ar 21ain Medi 2026 a bydd yn parhau i fod mewn grym am gyfnod nad yw'n hwy na 18 mis neu nes bod y gwaith y cynigir ei wneud wedi'i gwblhau, pa un bynnag yw'r cynharaf. Rhagwelir y bydd y gwaith yn cael ei gwblhau rhwng 21ain Medi 2026 a’r 30ain Hydref 2026.  

2.     Roedd y Gorchymyn yn angenrheidiol i wneud gwaith ail-balmantu/ail-adeiladu gyffordd mewn modd diogel yn y lleoliad.  Cedwir mynediad rhesymol i eiddo sy'n wynebu'r darnau o'r ffordd yr effeithir arnynt yn ystod y cyfnod cau.  

3.     Effaith y Gorchymyn oedd:
I.      Cau rhan o Stryd y Popty, Y Fenni, Sir Fynwy, dros dro, o’r gyffordd â Stryd y Tywysog i'r gyffordd â Stryd Frogmore. Cynhelir Mynediad i Breswylwyr.
II.     Cau rhan o Stryd Frogmore, Y Fenni, Sir Fynwy, dros dro, o’r gyffordd â Stryd Baker am tua 20m.
III.    Cyflwyno safle tacsis dros dro ar Stryd Frogmore o’r gyffordd â'r A40, am tua 15m i gynorthwyo Gyrwyr Tacsis gyda'u gwasanaethau.  

4.     Roedd llwybr dargyfeirio fel a ganlyn: A40, Heol Merthyr, Stryd Tudur ac i’r gwrthwyneb.  

5.     Gellir enwi'r Gorchymyn hwn fel Gorchymyn Rheoleiddio Traffig Dros Dro Stryd y Popty a Stryd Frogmore, Y Fenni, Sir Fynwy 2026.  

6.     Yn sgil Adran 16(1) Deddf Rheoleiddio Traffig Ffordd 1984 bydd person sy'n torri cyfyngiad neu waharddiad a osodir dan Adran 14 y Ddeddf yn euog o drosedd.

SECTION 14 - ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984  

MONMOUTHSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(BAKER STREET AND FROGMORE STREET, ABERGAVENNY, MONMOUTHSHIRE)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION NOTICE 2026
 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that MONMOUTHSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL of County Hall, The Rhadyr, Usk, NP15 1GA (“the Council”) Has made an order pursuant to the powers conferred by Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984  

1.     The Order came into operation on the 21st September 2026 and will continue to be in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.It is anticipated that the works will be completed between 21st September 2026 and 30th October 2026.  

2.     The order was necessary for repaving/reconstruction works to be carried out to the junction to take place in a safe manner at the location. Reasonable access will be maintained for properties fronting the affected lengths of road during the period of the closure.  

3.     The effect of the order will be:
I.      To temporarily close a section of Baker Street, Abergavenny, Monmouthshire, from its junction with Prince’s Street to its junction with Frogmore Street. Resident Access will be maintained.
II.     To temporarily close a section Frogmore Street, Abergavenny, Monmouthshire, from its junction with Baker Street for ~20m.
III.    To introduce a temporary taxi rank on Frogmore St from its junction with the A40, for ~15m to assist Taxi Drivers with their services.  

4.     A signed diversionary route was in place as follows:- A40, Merthyr Road, Tudor Street and vice versa.  

5.     This order may be cited as the Baker Street and Frogmore Street, Abergavenny, Monmouthshire Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2026  

6.     By virtue of Section 16(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 a person who contravenes a restriction or prohibition imposed under Section 14 of the Act shall be guilty of an offence.
