What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Swyre Road, West Bexington

DORSET COUNCIL intend, for less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along SWYRE ROAD, WEST BEXINGTON, in its entirety. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 30 September 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 06 October 2026.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance works.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of Fairfield Road, Dorchester

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along FAIRFIELD ROAD, DORCHESTER between its junctions with the car park access and Weymouth Avenue, a distance of approximately 45 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 28 September 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 27 November 2026.

This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out drainage & place-making works.

A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable pedestrian, cyclist & equine traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of B3157, Abbotsbury

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along B3157, ABBOTSBURY between its junction with Back Street and its junction with Glebe Close, a distance of approximately 430 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 28 September 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 09 October 2026

This Order will enable Wessex Internet, safe access to carry out fibre cable installation.
