Waltham Forest - Temporary Road Closures & Parking Restrictions Due To Various Works
What is happening?
THE LONDON BOROUGH OF WALTHAM FOREST (LBWF)
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 – Section 14(1) - The Waltham Forest (Carriageway And Footway Works) (Various Roads E17) (Temporary Measures) (No. 1) Order 2026
THE COUNCIL OF THE LBWF Hereby Gives Notice that it intends to make an Order to facilitate carriageway and footway works to be carried out in a safe and efficient manner in various roads within the High Street, E17 region.
The general effect of the Order would be, only at such times and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs:
(i) PHASE 1
(a) To prohibit motor vehicles from entering, proceeding and waiting or loading for any purpose at "any time" in Walthamstow High Street, between Storey Road and Mission Grove;
(b) Alternative routes available via:
(i) Storey Rd, Eldon Rd, Erskine Rd, Somers Rd and Palmerston Rd; and
(ii) Palmerston Rd, Mission Grove and High St.
(ii) PHASE 2
(a) To prohibit motor vehicles from entering, proceeding and waiting or loading for any purpose at "any time" in:
(i) Walthamstow High St- between Erskine Rd and Truro Rd;
(ii) Selborne Ave, in its entirety.
(b) Vernon Mews, to prohibit loading at any time where existing waiting restrictions apply.
(c) Alternative routes available via: Erskine Rd, Eldon Rd and Truro Rd.
(iii) PHASE 3 – to prohibit motor vehicles from entering, proceeding and waiting or loading for any purpose at "any time" in Buxton Rd, in its entirety.
Vehicular access to properties or other off-street parking facilities affected by these temporary measures would be maintained wherever possible, subject to the extent and operation of the closures.
The Order would come into operation on 21st September 2026 and would remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier (ref: TT32(26)).
NOTE: The works will be carried out in phases, as determined by the Council.
The Waltham Forest (Sinclair Road E4) - (Thames Water) (Temporary Measures) (No. 1) - Order 2026
THE COUNCIL OF THE LBWF Hereby Gives Notice that it intends to make an Order to enable Morrison Water Services, on behalf of Thames Water, to undertake works to construct a domestic water connection in the footway of Sinclair Road, E4 in a safe and efficient manner.
The general effect of the Order would be, only at such times and to such extent as indicated by regulatory signs, to prohibit motor vehicles from parking, waiting, loading or unloading for any purpose at any time on both sides of Sinclair Rd, between the western kerb-line of Burley Close and the common boundary of Nos. 50 and 52 Sinclair Rd.
The Order would come into operation on 21st September 2026 and would be valid for a maximum period of 1 month or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner. (Ref: TT31(26)).
NOTE: The works are expected to be completed within 7 days. The order has been extended to allow for contingencies.
Whilst the prohibitions referred to above remain in force, advance warning signage for traffic shall be in place.
Vehicles waiting or loading in contravention of the Orders may be removed.
The restrictions mentioned above would not apply in relation to any vehicle being used:
(a) in connection with the said works; or
(b) for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes, insofar as the works permit.
NOTE: Advance warning signs will be placed in the affected roads, providing details of the dates of the restrictions, the effect of any temporary traffic management measures and the diversion routes, where applicable.
