What is happening?

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATH

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

(UPTON FOOTPATH NO.13) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:-

No person shall: - Proceed on foot,

in the following length of Footpath at Upton in the District of Newark and Sherwood: -

Upton Footpath No.13, Church Walk the length of footpath that runs across the field (as shown on the accompanying plan).

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition will apply as follows:-

From Monday, 14th September 2026 until Wednesday, 30th September 2026 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative routes will be via Church Lane and Footpath No.18 and vice versa.

The prohibition shall apply to enable works to be carried out and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpath. It may also apply on subsequent days when it shall be necessary. If the works are not completed within 6 months, the Order may be extended.

The prohibition is required to enable surface improvement works to be completed to the footpath to make it safer for all users including disabled users and those with pushchairs etc.

THIS CLOSURE WILL ONLY TAKE EFFECT WHEN SIGNS INDICATING CLOSURE ARE DISPLAYED

THIS NOTICE IS DATED THIS 27TH DAY OF AUGUST 2026 .
