D6811 Giggs Hill Gardens, Thames Ditton Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D6811 Giggs Hill Gardens, Thames Ditton that extends from its north-eastern junction with A307 Portsmouth Road, for a distance of 30m. This Traffic Order is required to enable Thames Water/M Group to carry out excavations and/or replacement of pillar and/or connection and/or water mains maintenance works, backfilling and reinstatement. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 5pm within 3 days of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 30 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure which is anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. No sole access to any property will be affected. Access for emergency services, residents, businesses and equestrians will be maintained at all times to the point of works via the alternative route: – Portsmouth Road and Giggs Hill Gardens.

D4016 Annandale Road, Guildford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 09 September 2026 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of D4016 Annandale Road, Guildford . This Traffic Order is required to enable Southern Gas Networks to carry out gas mains replacement and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 11.59pm, within 5 weeks of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 14 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure which is anticipated to be required for 24 hours each, day will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, businesses and pedestrians will be maintained at all times. Access for cyclists and equestrians will be maintained via the alternative route: – Farnham Road, Wherwell Road and Wodeland Avenue.

D6363 Station Path, Staines Upon Thames Temporary Closure Order 2026

On 09 September 2026 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic (including pedestrians and cyclists) from entering or proceeding in the entire length of D6363 Station Path, Staines Upon Thames. This Traffic Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out footway slurry and/or resurfacing works and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out within 10 weeks of the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 17 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure which is anticipated may be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access between A308 High Street and X7064 Station Approach (Private Road) will be maintained at all times for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists via the footway to A308 High Street, C248 Kingston Road and D3281 George Street. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.

Coveham Crescent (D6888) Cobham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 09 September 2026 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Coveham Crescent (D6888) Cobham as extends from its junction with (A307) Portsmouth Road to its junction with (D6888) Wyndham Avenue. Alternative Route: (A307) Portsmouth Road, Northfield Road, Pennyfield, Molesworth Road, and Wyndham Avenue, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate gas mains replacement works for, or on behalf of SGN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 26 days, between the hours of 7am and 5pm, within the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 21 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency service vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for residents and businesses, and all other vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.

Oakfield Road to Portsmouth Road (T5027) (Townpath) Cobham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 09 September 2026 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any person from entering or proceeding on foot or by any other means in the entire length of Oakfield Road to Portsmouth Road (T5027) (Townpath) Cobham. Alternative Route for Pedestrians: (A307) Portsmouth Road and Anyards Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate gas mains connection works for, or on behalf of SGN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 19 days, between the hours of 7am and 5pm, during the 6-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 21 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Due to the nature of the works, there will be no access through the closure, on foot or by other means, and all traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this closure.

Shophouse Lane (D194) Albury Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.3) 2026
On 09 September 2026 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Shophouse Lane (D194) Albury as extends from its junction with (D223) Ride Lane to its junction with (D224) Lockhurst Hatch Lane. Alternative Route: Row Lane, Winterfold Heath Road, Windmill Plain, Hound House Road, Sandy Lane, Shere Heath Road, Little London, Brook Lane, Brook Hill, and Shophouse Lane, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate telecom pole replacement works for, or on behalf of Barr Engineering Services Ltd. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 22 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the banksmen on site, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

Crown Lane (D3179) Virginia Water Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 09 September 2026 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Crown Lane (D3179) Virginia Water. This Order is required to facilitate telecom utility works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 21 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the banksmen on site, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists. There is no alternative route for this closure.

Metcalf Road (D3262) Ashford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 09 September 2026 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Metcalf Road (D3262) Ashford as extends from its junction with (D6205) Feltham Hill Road to a point in line with the common boundary between property No.26 and No.28 Metcalf Road. Alternative Route: Metcalf Road, Service Road Fronting 1 to 133 Convent Road and Feltham Hill Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate telecom pole replacement works for, or on behalf of Barr Engineering Services Ltd. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 23 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the banksmen on site, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

Thorpe By-Pass (B388) Egham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 4 September 2026, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Sections 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Thorpe By-Pass (B388) Egham as extends from its junction with Muckhatch Lane (X1065) to its junction with Muir Lane (X1364).
Alternative route – B388 (Thorpe Lea Road, New Wickham Lane and Vicarage Road), B3407 (High Street, Church Road and High Street), A30 (Egham Hill and London Road) and B389 (Christchurch Road, Sandhills Lane and Green Road), or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enabl e MIDA Civil Engineering Ltd to facilitate carriageway works and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 22 September 2026 for 4 days between the hours of 7.30am and 4.30pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and dismounted equestrians will be maintained at all times. Access for residents will be maintained using road plates.

Hampton Court Way (A309) Esher and Thames Ditton
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 4 September 2026, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Sections 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Hampton Court Way (A309) Esher and Thames Ditton as extends from its junction with Portsmouth Road (A307) to its junction with Weston Green (D6906).
Alternative route – A307 (Portsmouth Road and High Street), A3009 (Esher Green, anti-clockwise only), A244 (Church Street (clockwise only), Lammas Lane, Esher Road and Hersham By-Pass), A317 (Hersham By-Pass and Queens Road), A3050 (Oatlands Drive, Bridge Street, Hepworth Way, Church Street, Terrace Road, Hurst Road, River Bank and Creek Road (anti-clockwise only)) and A309 (Hampton Court Way), or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable Openreach to facilitate cabling works and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 21 September 2026 1 night between the hours of 9.00pm and 6.00am. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Church Road (D6805), Rectory Lane (D6808) and Woodstock Lane North (D6808) Long Ditton Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 4 September 2026, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Sections 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in:- 1. the entire length of Church Road (D6805) Long Ditton; 2. that length of Rectory Lane (D6808) Long Ditton as extends from its junction with Church Road (D6805) to its junction with Rectory Close (D6808); and 3. that length of Woodstock Lane North (D6808) Long Ditton as extends from its junction with Love Lane (X16312) to its junction with Church Road (D6805).

This Order is required to enable SGN to facilitate gas main replacement and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 21 September 2026 for 2 months between the hours of 7.00am and 5.00pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation for 24-hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

D5400 Summers Road, Farncombe Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and (7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to: – a) Prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of D5400 Summers Road, Farncombe. b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Summers Road (D5400) Farncombe Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Management Order 2026” in its entirety. This Traffic Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out traffic signal refurbishment and/or repair and/or maintenance and/or highway works. These works are anticipated to be carried out within 2 weeks of the 14 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 01 October 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. Access for emergency services, residents and businesses will be maintained at all times under direction of site operatives and/or via the alternative route: – B3000 New Pond Road, D5409 Furze Lane and D98 Bourne Road.

Shepherds Hill (D4020) Guildford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of the southern junction of Shepherds Hill (D4020) Guildford as extends from its junction with (A322) Worplesdon Road and for a distance of 60 metres in a westerly direction along Shepherds Hill. Alternative Route: (1) Shepherds Hill, Fentum Road, Northway, (A323) Aldershot Road, and (A322) Worplesdon Road; (2) Shepherds Hill, (A322) Worplesdon Road, Shepherds Lane, Northway, and Fentum Road. This Order is required to facilitate lining works for, or on behalf of Thames Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 nights, between the hours of 8pm and 6am, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 30 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Almners Road (D3005) Chertsey Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of the Almners Road (D3005) Chertsey as extends from its junction with (D3003) Former Lyne Crossing Road to its junction with (C127) Hardwick Lane. Alternative Route: Hardwick Lane, Lyne Crossing Road, Lyne Lane, (B389) Green Road, (B388) Thorpe Road, (A320) Staines Road, St Anns Road, and Ruxbury Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate joint replacement works for, or on behalf of Octavius infrastructure Ltd. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 20 nights, between the hours of 8pm and 5am, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 28 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the banksmen on site, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

Longcross Road (B386) Chertsey and Green Lane (C127) Chertsey Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Longcross Road (B386) Chertsey as extends from its junction with (X96098) Tanglewood Close to its junction with (D3017) Kitsmead Lane. Alternative Route: (B386) Longcross Road, (B386) Holloway Hill, (A320) Guildford Road, (A319) Chobham Road, (A319) Chertsey Road, (B383) Windsor Road, (B386) Chertsey Road, and (B386) Longcross Road, or this route in reverse; (b) Green Lane (C127) Chertsey as extends from its junction with (D3030) Bittams Lane to its junction with (D3021) Elm Tree Close. Alternative Route: Bittams Lane, Little Green Lane, (A320) Guildford Road, and Green Lane, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate new electrical connection works and underground service cabling works for, or on behalf of UKPN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 days, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 29 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, via road plates if required. All other vehicular traffic, including the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route.

Staines Road West (A308) Sunbury On Thames Temporary Prohibition of Right Turn Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles that are travelling eastbound on Staines Road West (A308) Sunbury On Thames from turning right into (D6245) Escot Road. Alternative Route: (A308) Staines Road West, (A308) Staines Road East, (A308) Staines Road, West, and Escot Road. This temporary traffic Order is required to facilitate a safe working zone while works are in progress for a new pedestrian crossing and/or any other associated works to be carried out for, or on behalf of Surrey County Council. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 weeks, and completed as soon as possible, within the 18-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 30 September 2026. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary prohibition, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. The above restriction shall not apply to vehicles being used in relation to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; or in accordance with any restrictions or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the road by or on behalf of the Police.

Dane Road (D3272) Ashford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Dane Road (D3272) Ashford as extends from its junction with (D3272) Dane Road Access Road to its junction with (D6204) Saxon Road. Alternative Route – Saxon Road; Elgin Avenue; and Dane Road or this same route in reverse. This 12-month Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 05 October 2026 is required to facilitate mains water repair works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Affinity Water within the length of road described in this notice. The works in are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days between the hours of 8am and 4pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will operate only when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times. All other traffic, including residents, businesses, the emergency services and cyclists will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by this Closure.

Midleton Industrial Estate Road (D4002) Guildford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of the entire length of Midleton Industrial Estate Road (D4002) Guildford. There is no applicable alternative route. This 12-month Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 05 October 2026 is required to facilitate stormwater drainage installation works and/or carriageway resurfacing works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Foran Construction within the length of road described in this notice. The works in are anticipated to be carried out over two weeks between the hours of 8pm and 6am. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will operate only when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and the emergency services will be maintained at all times. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.

The Green (C47) Ewhurst Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of The Green (C47) Ewhurst as extends from a point in line with the common boundary between the properties known as “Weavers” and “Square Leg Cottage” to a point in line with the common boundary between the properties known as “Fair View” and “Stone Cottage”. Alternative Route – The Green; Cranleigh Road; Bookhurst Road; Ewhurst Road; Horsham Road; Somersbury Lane; and The Green. This 12-month Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 05 October 2026 is required to facilitate mains water connection works and/or mains water disconnection works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Thames Water within the length of road described in this notice. The works in are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days between the hours of 8am and 6pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will operate only when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and the emergency services will be maintained at all times. All other traffic, including residents will be required to use the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.

Woodbridge Meadows (Cycle Lane) (D4003) Guildford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to (a) prohibit any person from entering or proceeding on foot or by any other means in that length of Woodbridge Meadows (Cycle Lane) (D4003) Guildford as extends from its junction with the access to No.33 Woodbridge Meadows to its junction with the access to the Woodbridge Meadows Car Park. Alternative Route – It is recommended that cyclists dismount and then rejoin the cycle lane further along the route; and (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Woodbridge Meadows (D4003) and Walnut Tree Close (D4003) Guildford (One-Way System and Contra-flow Cycle Lane) (No. 1) Traffic Regulation Order 2023” insofar as it affects that length of the Cycle Lane specified and described in part (a). This 12-month Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 05 October 2026 is required to facilitate fibre telecoms installation and ducting works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Fibrewave Installations Ltd within the length of road described in this notice. The works in are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days between the hours of 8.30am and 6.30pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will operate only when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times via the alternate footpath.

Brook Hill (D194) Albury Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Sections 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Brook Hill (D194) Albury as extends from a point 20 metres north of and 20 metres south of Brook level crossing.
Alternative route – 1. Brook Hill, Park Road, Little London, Brook Lane and Brook Hill, or this route in reverse. 2. Brook Hill, Shophouse Lane, Row Lane, Winterfold Heath Road, Windmill Plain, Hound House Road, Sandy Lane, Shere Heath Road, Park Road and Brook Hill, or this route in reverse.
This Order is required to enable Network Rail to facilitate signal and telecoms maintenance and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 30 September 2026 for 2 nights between the hours of 10.00pm and 6.00am. Malthouse Lane (D38) Worplesdon Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Malthouse Lane (D38) Worplesdon.
There is no alternative route for this closure.
This Order is required to enable CX Telecoms to facilitate new duct installation and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 7 October 2026 for 2 weeks, between the hours of 8.00am and 4.00pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1) Public Bridleway 276 (Bramley) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026

On 03 September 2026 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Bridleway 276 (Bramley) which extends for 730 metres from its junction with Selhurst Common Road (Grid ref: 501197 140601) to its junction with Public Footpath 275 (Bramley).
The order is necessary on the grounds of public safety due to vehicle movements on or near the highway. The closure will be in operation for a period of 17 days from 05 September 2026 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the county council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
The alternative route for traffic from the southern end of closure will be south-east via Public Bridleway 276 (Bramley), generally south-west via Public Bridleway 564 (Bramley), west via Public Bridleway 600 (Hascombe), north-west via Public Bridleway 565 (Bramley) and Public Bridleway 265 (Bramley), then south-east and north-east via Public Bridleway 265 (Bramley) and east via Selhurst Common Road. Total length of diversion: 2630m
The alternative route for traffic from northern end of the closure will be the reverse of the route described above.
“The Surrey County Council Public Bridleway 276 (Bramley) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026” was made by the county council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
