THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARNET
The Barnet (Free Parking Places, Loading Places, Waiting, Loading And Stopping Restrictions) - (Amendment No.314) Order 2026 - The Barnet (Charged-For Parking Places) - (Amendment No.211) Order 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that THE COUNCIL OF THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARNET have made on 10th September 2026 the above-mentioned Orders under Sections 6, 32, 35 and 49 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.

1. In order to deter obstructive parking, and improve sightlines and safety, the general effect of the Free Parking Places Order will be to:
(a) introduce new lengths ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions at the junction of Great North Way and Ashley Lane NW7, junction of Uphill Grove and Tretawn Gardens NW7, junction of Lawrence Avenue and Tretawn Gardens NW7, junction of Mayfield Gardens and Shirehall Lane NW4, junction of Park View Gardens and Shirehall Lane NW4, and the junction of Elms Avenue and Shirehall Lane NW4.

(b) introduce new lengths ‘at any time’ waiting restrictions at the following locations:
- On the southwest side of Great North Way between Greenlands Lane and Ashley Lane NW4.
- Shirehall Lane (side of No.35 Mayfield Gardens NW4).
- Harley Close NW7 (side of Fire Station).
- Harley Avenue NW7 (outside Fire Station).
- Outside Lillia Mews (High Road N20).
- Poplar Grove N11 (Side of Sycamore Hill).
- Outside No.12, 23 and 24 St Stephen Road EN5
- Outside No.90 Wildwood Road NW11
- Both sides of Meadway EN5, between No.106 and No.112 Meadway EN5
- Outside No.10 and No.68 Highview Gardens HA8
- Osidge Lane N14 – On the northwest side between No.6 Osidge Lane and the junction of Chase Side N14
- Osidge Lane N14 – On the southeast side between the southwestern flank wall of No.185 Chase Side N14 and the junction with Chase Side. Also, outside Nos.25 to 27 Osidge Lane N14 and outside Nos.29 to 33 Osidge Lane N14.

(c) Upgrade existing lengths of waiting restrictions to operate ‘at any time’ at the following locations:
- Lengths of waiting restrictions operating from 1:00pm to 6:00pm on event days to operate ‘at any time’ on Greenlands Lane NW4 between the junction of A1 Great North Way and the entrance to Copthall Playing Fields.
- Lengths of waiting restrictions operating 11:00am to 12:00pm Monday to Friday on the northeast side of Wayside between A41 Hendon Way and Gresham Gardens and also on the northeast side of Wayside between Basing Hill and The Vale NW11.
- Lengths of waiting restrictions operating 2:00pm to 3:00pm Monday to Friday situated outside No. 30 Gruneisen Road and opposite No.8 to 30 Gruneisen Road N3.
- Lengths of waiting restrictions operating 2:00pm to 3:00pm Monday to Friday situated outside and opposite No197 Ballards Lane N3.
- Lengths of waiting restrictions operating 10:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday at the junction of Sunnyside and Ridge Road NW2, at the junction of Prospect Place with Ridge Road NW2, at the junction of Prospect Place with Prospect Road NW2, outside No.1 Prospect Place, Prospect Place NW2 (side of No.38 Prospect Road) and on the southwest side of Ridge Road NW2 between the junction of Prospect Place and the eastern flank wall of No.5 Ridge Road NW2.

(d) Introduce a length of waiting restriction operating 8:00am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday opposite Nos.10 to 18 Shirehall Lane NW4.

2. In order to help improve the parking provision on street in the Ridge Road NW2 area the general effect of the orders will be to convert a length of an existing waiting restriction operating 10:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday outside No.32 Ridge Road into a resident permit holder only parking bay operating 10:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday.

Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on Wednesday 16th September 2026 and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the Orders can be obtained, for a period of 6 weeks from the date on which this notice is published, by emailing: parking.consultations@barnet.gov.uk, or by writing to: The Design Team, Highways Section, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London, NW9 4EW.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders or any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or any regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
