EAST STAFFORDSHIRE BOROUGH COUNCIL (OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2017 (VARIATION) (NO. 5) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is hereby given under Regulation 7 of the Local Authorities Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 (SI 1996/2489) that East Staffordshire Borough Council (“the Council") intends to exercise its powers under sections 32, 33 and 35 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the 1984 Act”) and any other enabling powers to make the East Staffordshire Borough Council (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2017 (Variation) (No. 5) Order 2026 to come into effect on 12th October 2026 which will:

- Amend the Schedule to remove Burton Place (Surface) Car Park and Burton Place (Roof Top) Car Park from the Order following the Council’s disposal of its freehold interest in those car parks.

There are no changes to the other parking places in the Borough of East Staffordshire. The changes effected by this Notice are set out in the Schedule below.

The Council has made a copy of the Proposed Order and the Statement of Reasons for the changes to the East Staffordshire Borough Council (Off-Street Parking Places) Order 2017 available by first contacting LegalandAssets@eaststaffsbc.gov.uk and then visiting the Town Hall, King Edward Place, Burton upon Trent, DE14 2EB, by appointment between the hours of 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday and on the Council’s website: www.eaststaffsbc.gov.uk.

Any person wishing to make objections or representations in respect of the Proposed Variation Order or any provision in it, must do so in writing or by email. Any objections or representations must be received by 5.00pm on 2nd October 2026, and specify the grounds on which they are made. Such objections or representations should be sent to Legal, Assets and Democratic Services, East Staffordshire Borough Council, Town Hall, King Edward Place, Burton upon Trent, DE14 2EB or by email to LegalandAssets@eaststaffsbc.gov.uk.
