The Secretary of State gives notice of an Order made under Section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping Up and Diversion of Highway (Yorkshire and Humber) (No.17) Order 2026” authorising the stopping up of two areas of highway to the south of Blakeley Court, and the stopping up and diversion of a length of Footpath 406 at Athersley South, in the Metropolitan Borough of Barnsley.
This is to enable development as permitted by Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, under reference 2025/0564.
Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, from the Secretary of State, Transport Infrastructure Planning Casework Unit, PO Box 1393, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE99 5FQ or nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk (quoting SUO5592536). They may also be inspected during normal opening hours at Monk Bretton
Post Office, 18 Judy Row, Monk Bretton, Barnsley, S75 4HY. Any person who wishes to challenge the validity of the decision to make the Order may apply to the High Court within 6 weeks from 11 September 2026.
